Trump Refuses to Let CNN’s Jim Acosta Ask Question: ‘You’re Fake News!’
President-elect Donald Trump’s Wednesday morning press conference devolved into a shouting match between himself and CNN’s White House correspondent Jim Acosta. Trump yelled, "you are fake news!" as Acosta tried to press him to answer a question. The exchange was prompted by Trump calling BuzzFeed a “failing pile of garbage.” He said, “I think they’re going to suffer the consequences. They already are.” He added, “As far as CNN going out of their way to build it up....It’s a disgrace what took place. It’s a disgrace, and I think they ought to apologize to start.” Acosta said: “Since you’re attacking us, can you give us a question? ... Since you are attacking our news organization—can you give us a chance?” Trump responded: “Not you. Your organization is terrible.” He continued to interrupt the reporter: “Quiet. Don’t be rude. Don’t be rude. No, I’m not going to give you a question. I’m not going to give you a question.”

CNN's response to Trump's
CNN's response to Trump's accusations of false reporting
From CNN
Updated 1:01 PM ET, Wed January 11, 2017
(CNN)CNN's decision to publish carefully sourced reporting about the operations of our government is vastly different than Buzzfeed's decision to publish unsubstantiated memos. The Trump team knows this. They are using Buzzfeed's decision to deflect from CNN's reporting, which has been matched by the other major news organizations.
We are fully confident in our reporting. It represents the core of what the First Amendment protects, informing the people of the inner workings of their government; in this case, briefing materials prepared for President Obama and President-elect Trump last week.
We made it clear that we were not publishing any of the details of the 35-page document because we have not corroborated the report's allegations. Given that members of the Trump transition team have so vocally criticized our reporting, we encourage them to identify, specifically, what they believe to be inaccurate.

Trump came off as pretty
Trump came off as pretty immature during that exchange, IMHO.
Otherwise, he did much better during the press conference than I could've ever imagined.
I'm feeling reassured for now.
American leaders need to deal with a free press...at least for now.

Tyrants don’t allow open questioning, and they hate the free press. They want total control. Trump's so-called “news conference” today (the first time he’s faced reporters in six months) was a sad example:
1. Trump refused to answer questions from reporters who have run stories he doesn’t like, or from news outlets that have criticized him.
2. He loaded the audience with paid staffers who cheered his statements and jeered at reporters.
3. He continued calling the media “dishonest.”
4. He criticized CNN for dispensing “fake news,” called Buzzfeed “a pile of garbage,” and sarcastically called the BBC “another beauty.”
It wasn’t a “news conference” at all, and shouldn't be called one. It was another attempt to control the media. Trump isn’t even president yet, but he’s already eroding our democracy. We must not allow him to.

Eroding the democracy? are you serious. Who are the ones that are trying to tell you what news is fake and what is real? Did you forget already.
I didnt hear trump saying he wants to ban any news sources. or shut anything down. It was Hillary that said she was going to shut down the news sources she doesn't like.
You really should just admit that you don't know anything and have an opinion based on some sort of poser identify problem and not the facts that are right in your face.

Trump attacks the press for any negative story on him. He constantly calls them "crooked media" and refuses to talk to media that have published negative information about him. The press printed direct quotes from Trump and he claimed the information to be lies. Trump, not Clinton, banned several media outlets from covering his events.
>Who are the ones that are trying to tell you what news is fake and what is real? Did you forget already. <
Trump. Apparently you forgot that he claimed Russian hacking to be fake news.

Carl Bernstein: “Let's talk
Carl Bernstein: “Let's talk about what reporting is. It's the best obtainable version of the truth. That's what that story is — the best obtainable version of the truth is that the chief intelligence officials of the United States of America saw this material, thought that it deserved investigation, thought that it ought to be brought to the attention of the President of the United States, and to the president-elect. That is the best obtainable version of the truth.
And another thing about anonymous sources, one of the great anonymous sources of our era his Kellyanne Conway. She does it every day. She has been an anonymous source for the last 10 months, particularly during this campaign when it suits her. And it's time to talk about what we do as journalists and what propaganda ministers do. And that is what she is is a propaganda minister, and what we've seen here tonight is a deconstruction of the journalistic process. And we did our work.
And you can deconstruct it and it comes down to, ‘Look the chief officials of the United States intelligence community believed they had something urgent enough to bring to the attention of the president and the president-elect of the United States. ‘That is a story.’”
