We got about 4 inches of rain the last two days more to come over the weekend
The Mountains got lots of snow again
Ski resorts off Lake Tahoe’s South Shore received 17 inches of new snow within 24 hours.
Both Sierra-at-Tahoe and Kirkwood Mountain reported 17 inches Friday morning, while Heavenly Mountain Resort reported 16 inches.
The totals come as the second of three storms continues to dump snow in the region. Another 2 to 4 feet of snow is expected to fall at lake level over the weekend in the Sierras, according to the National Weather Service.
I wish we were still in the foothills near Kirkwood for this wet and wild January. This next series of storms is supposed to drop up to 7 feet in some areas. I also saw noaa is calling for gusts of up to 105 mph in the high country west of Mono Lake on Sunday, i believe. I had to drive back from Hesperia north of Cajon Pass to Oceanside today in the early morning San Bernardino rush hour with all the rain and wind and surprisingly there was little to no traffic and I made it home in fine time.
