Added yesterday. Scored all 3 and 4 out of 5, missed snagging 1st nite.
We figured fuck it. We spend 450 - 500 on just 1 dead n co show. Not to mention all the Infinity Hall shows and others we go to in a year.
This year there's nothing, no bands, no tours, nada. Warren is it.
So we're all in for brother Haynes.
Now if he could just get Abts + Jorgen off their asses and make this a real special run.
Ahhhhhhhhh needed that one. Wonderful show, killer 2nd set and encore. Great mix of tunes. Spectacular folks up in the upper right quadrant. Perfect setting,,, just right nite. Plenty of room to groove, and no lines for anything. No smoking of any kind was being tolerated inside the venue or in the lot,, which was fine with me, cigarettes are fucking disgusting as well as super spreaders. My Pax ERA was working overtime. Went with my wife annnnnnd fell in love at least twice. Perfect nite. Thanks Warren + Danny
It was wonderful for Bob and I, we were right next to the soundboard and didn't even plan it :). The sound was great, the setlist was just perfect for me ( I liked the Ashes n Dust album) and even got to see a few folks from the Mule family. We were down a lot closer than I thought and my calves got a workout dancing on an incline all nite. We stayed at the Litchfield Inn about 4 miles away, just a nice getaway. Gonna do it all over again on Oct 15th, but staying a few extra days to check the beautiful area.
We went on Sunday and skipped Sat, renewing.
I also was given the setlist after the show, here it is...but they did Fallen Down> The Other One as encore...
>What was written on the stage, "Life is better on grass"
Yes.
Warren was trying to find the groove and any song that I heard requested in the 2 shows was played - including my Saturday request for the Real Thing. Fallen Down was a request on Sunday that I heard from the crowd that Warren graciously played. He found the TOO groove and Danny stepped right in.
I'll be at the next 3 Warren shows as well as Allman Betts, if the town don't pull the plug. Covid regulations are changing daily here and there's been scuttlebutt locally about shutting the concerts at South Farms down. Stay tuned.
The word is that they will run until someone physically shuts them down -- they, the Paletsky's farm are long time connected family in Morris and aren't caving from any locals -- especially the new money crowd. I'd worry more about about the 30-40 degree temps that seem to be coming for October nighttimes.
No problem Mike and Ras, I just happened upon it myself last nite :).
Ras maybe we'll meet on the 15th, my next show. We lucked out and got row A in the front center, altho most would be grateful but i am worried it is too close for sound...we'll see.
Jonas...hey, I was mentioning you to Bob as i thought you lived there, but with all the masks I could not recognize anyone. What a beautiful area of CT you live in, I am going up early in Oct and checking out the lake and park area, and hitting some antique shops also. I sure hope they don't pull the plug, it really is a great concept and yes I am going to bundled up for Oct shows. Hope you are well ?
Out in PA we have a cool estate ( Pitcairn Estate/ Events at LNC) and production company ( Circle D Productions... my friend Denny) whom have partnered up to bring some wonderful local music to us in the same manner but on a smaller scale. The estate has a cool sheepfold made of old stone ( acoustics are amazing and natural) where they mark off pods and sell for 2-4 people.
It has been renewing and healing to be able to go see live music again while still respecting others and practicing social distance. Once it begins to get too cold it's gonna all go away, so hopefully in Spring it will open up again.
Here are some pics and a link in case you are close to Bryn Athyn/ Abington area of PA....
Here is a cool vid of the grounds...so beautiful that I have it booked for Bob and I to celebrate our 60th with all of our friends. I have 5 bands booked and some good ole BBQ/Pig Roast happening in April of 2021 <3.
Lynn -- I heard you and Bob would be there. With masks and limited movement it's hard to socialize. Hopefully we catch up in a few weeks. Let me know if you need any suggestions for places to hit.
I'll start helping you with a go to close by places list --
Bantam Lake
Tyler Lake
Sunset Meadow Vinyards (lots of nice vinyards around)
Topsmead State Forest
White Memorial Conservation Center
Mohawk Mountain State Park
And for the history buff in you -
East Cemetery in Litchfield is home to quite a few notables not the least of which is Oliver Wolcott signer of our Declaration Of Independence and Benjamin Tallmadge, George Washington's brilliant spymaster in the Continental Army. Touching Revolutionary and Civil War headstones everywhere. A special place
John Browns Birthplace
March Farm Orchards
Lots more good stuff to do in the area. My family and I live 5.4 miles from the venue, hookups very possible.
And my favorite store, Theory Wellness,, is just a short 45 min ride in Great Barrington Mass !!
Love chocolate Lynn ? Thorncrest Farm is the best, just 5 miles or so from the Litchfield Inn. Great milk too. All organic farm.
Time for an ice cream ? Arethusa Farm got the goods, and just across the street from that is the Bantam Bread Co - the sourdough olive comes out of the ovens about 10:30am. Get it hot it is out of this world.
Litchfield Distillery makes good booze, right on the way to Arethusa.
I'll be adding to your list as more things come to mind :)
I appreciate all of the recommendations...they are great !
I did look up the Thorncrest farm and the bread company...gonna make sure to visit them, Thanks !
I have a small Jam and Jelly business that has done well, been making jam and home baked goodies forever , so I like to check out other local made fresh goods when I visit another area. My page on fb is Lyn's Jammin Jams, You can email me at [email protected] and i will bring you some of my homemade " jersey fresh" jam for being so kind here.
...or you can just look for " the weird lady handing out jam " ....;)
My pleasure lyn, and what an awesome thing you do. I'll be spreading you around my sphere of influence.
And when you need a more substantial meal, West Shore Seafood is your destination. The place doesn't look like much from the outside but everything they make is great.
Mount Tom State Park is close and has a short hike to a tower on the hilltop with great panoramic views.
We have, sounds like hundreds of times, we just fumbled the meeting. Next Warren show we'll get it right. My last show before the pandemic hit was Albert Lee at Infinity Hall, before that one it was Mule in Waterbury. I bet you hit both those too
Could have been a bit louder but pretty snappy. See you next week
Thanks for setlist Ras, I can always count on the zone for my music info...:).
Looking forward to my getaway this week, heading in Wed and going to check out some of your suggestions...thanks again. Been super busy making over 400 jars of jam and vending, with 3 more shows to go yet, so my lil getaway is welcomed. I am packing my thermals and Big Wooly Mammoth coat and socks to keep me warm, we are in 1st row and pod 10 so I believe I am walking ALL the way down the hill....lol .
I am bringing some goodies but they will be in car so look for me and i'll hook ya up with some jam and goodies <3. Hope to see some of my Mule family and get down in the cow pasture together.
Lucky you lyn, supposed to be spectacular here Wednesday + Thursday, sunny around 70. Just chilly at night, unlike last Thursday nite when it felt about 30 with the wind. Shoot us a text when you can (860-480-9654), hookup mandatory - we have 2 new kittens that you just HAVE to meet.
I will get in touch with you, bringing jam and goodies for you and some of my Mule family I am meeting on Thursday. Finally packed and my kitties are all set here, they know something is up and are not happy. My son is coming by both days to feed them and hang out with them for a bit...I always miss them so when I go away.
Weakest lowest energy show of the run. Half the crowd was bored shitless texting on their cellphones. Setlist looks ok but it had no gusto, no umph at all. A real dead dog blower. I never thought I'd hear Warren play a suck ass Thorazine, but there it was. Even the Dreams encore couldn't save this show.
Sorry we didn't connect Ras, I did enjoy your beautiful area...found all sorts of gems and enjoyed both days :) .
As for the show, I didn't think it was weak at all...
First off it was pretty freakin cold and that venue has the most uptight staff I have ever seen:(. We had our little festi wagon to carry our chairs and blankets that we take everywhere and they were giving us a hard time about bringing it in...really hard time ! I asked them why it it was such a difficulty. they replied that we may have drugs hidden in it....lol !! I tore that baby apart and showed them all we had were essentials for keeping warm as it was super cold.
They finally let us go with it....and never found any drugs...crazy !
As for the Thorazine I did not think it was weak, but yet different and I liked it ( I don't want it the same everytime). I like how he has been doing some very different songs and prompting me to "go back" and think about what it was.
I had a good time at both shows I attended and am grateful he has done this for us. I will however never go back to that venue, it is too steep and the porta potties are a friggan football field away ...ugh ! The folks in town were all super nice and were saying venue is not getting renewed for next year....just a one time thing for covid. It's a shame because it def brings folks in to town and generates business ( also the leaf peepers were all over ). I loved the area, folks I met and enjoyed all the fresh farm to table food. I even found a chocolate farm that makes their confections from the cows on site, they have a cow named Daydream and her milk is used for the creamiest caramels ever.
Here are some of my highlights, also the laser lights were cool with the wind and smoke. I thought they jammed off of each other a lot and just "played"...but I like that kind of thing from Warren.
Ohh yeah, let's make everyone wear masks ( i know it's for our own good, and do see the need), but UP a very steep hill iin the breathless wind....Dangerous !!

Weakest lowest energy show of
Weakest lowest energy show of the run. Half the crowd was bored shitless texting on their cellphones. Setlist looks ok but it had no gusto, no umph at all. A real dead dog blower. I never thought I'd hear Warren play a suck ass Thorazine, but there it was. Even the Dreams encore couldn't save this show.

I read the neighbors have been bitching about the noise and zoning/use violations, looking to kill this "venue" for next year.

Sorry we didn't connect Ras,
Sorry we didn't connect Ras, I did enjoy your beautiful area...found all sorts of gems and enjoyed both days :) .
