I'd pay $10 MAX to see this band. Not sure about the dinner either. Last time I bought food there it was pretty gross, like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours..

I would imagine that the
Keep in mind that I think they only sell around 35 tables, so they're not making THAT much, and I would imagine that the majority of the money is going to the staff & musicians, who I'm sure can use the dough.
No spot taken here, but I doubt anyone going to this or any of these other park shows are going for the band, I'm betting that they're going for a semi-normal evening out, and these days we have to pay a premium for something like that.
Smoke 'em if ya' got 'em.
I have to say that when my dog & I stopped by one of these a week or two ago just to say hello to some folks and walk around the outside for a half-hour or so, it was really nice to just be out among people on a lovely late afternoon with live music in the air.
BTW, San Geronimo is really good. Maybe my little buddy & I should have taken a drive this afternoon.

some degree of normalcy
some degree of normalcy paired with an opportunity to help out a business and a community of musicians who in spite of there Dad or being friends of sons of famous Dads need to be supported in a post pandemic world
its clear to me the ticket costs are not some get rich plan for Jill and Co. its to try to build a revenue stream for a group of employees, vendors and musicians who really fucking need it right the fuck now
but I am sure the band sucks and some would not pay 10 bucks to hear em so there is that

What Phil/TxR may make on this or the other shows they're doing right now probably won't fill his tank.
What people paid to see him and the rest of The Grateful Dead Show playing sheds & stadiums in the late '80s/'90s is still filling his tank just fine.

At its peak, Terrapin had
At its peak, Terrapin had over 100 employees. Today we are down to less than 10. Unfortunately, we had to let one more go, and the two bartenders are now splitting shifts. They are doing this so we can continue to have shows. It's sad but the rest of us still there want to be there, it's fun. Once in a while someone will get bent out of shape about having to be told to keep their mask on or to stay in their square, tuff for them, those are the current rules. I'm trying my best to ride this to the very end which could be right around the corner, who knows. Enjoy it while you can, I'm starting to see the generosity again of the people who frequent Terrapin as I had four miracles to give away for a recent show. Fingers crossed for a busy week.

Just having fun up there, no intent for that to be at your expense and I apologize flat out if it comes off that way mr peak.
truth is, it's just what the cost of things are.
If we lived closer, and also could have snagged a table quick, we probably would have custy'd up at least once by now.
let there be songs to fill the air

people are generous, and
people are generous, and people are even nice, as is the staff -- TBH you guys are professionals as well
the rules are basically what they need to be - (perhaps a bit too stringent, but WTF - when in Rome) , and even I can follow them.. ( nipple chafing is very hard to do when 8 feet is the closest one can get to another human )
thanks to all , from the jillmost to the lounge attendant
peace and prosper

No disrespect intended on my part.
I was just expressing surprise, especially since I thought it was for 1 person.
17 year-old males are pretty expensive when it comes to car insurance and food stocks (not to mention water bills).
I appreciate all of you who are holding down the fort, staff and patrons alike.
And, if a ticket is available, I would be more than happy to shell out a lot of money to see a lineup with Phil and a drummer.
Hang in there,
John

Thanks for stopping by with the reality check, Pete, as well as the backstory. I imagine many of you are hanging by a thread these days without thinking you have the security that seemed to be there back in the heyday of TXR when musicians, management and staff thought they'd have a job tomorrow.
Keep the music flowing, keep TXR alive.
