I'm gonna make some fried chicken legs and probably some pork chops. Nothing else to do, really. Definitely routing for th e Cheifs. Maholmes makes the game fun to watch and I've seen Brady win enough Super Bowls. Cheifs are the better team in my opinion but that doesn't mean they will win. Just wish it was one week instead of two weeks. Long ass time to wait for one game

i am marinating some mild peppers in olive oil, garlic, and some parmesan  cheese. Also cut up some pepperoni and extra sharp cheddar cheese to go on some crackers with the peppers topping it off. 
 

Was going to go with some shrimp cocktails but may switch to some scallops, I love this day no matter who is playing

and why the fuck is the super bowl not paired with a national holiday on Monday, already?

I'm flying my flag, Fabes. I love Super Bowl Sunday. Fun American tradition, but I know a lot of folks who could give a rat's ass. I'll sure miss the annual party. My wife is making veggie lasagne, by my request.  

I got to go to one in 2008 and it's a great memory. My mom had heart surgery, I went down to Phoenix to help so I didn't need lodging and the plane ticket was already paid for so, my ticket outside the stadium, and the beers inside were my only expense. The memorabilia show the days before was pretty cool, too. Got lucky and scored a ticket lower level 30 rows up for $1,000. I'd do it again in a heartbeat, but I don't think I'll ever be that lucky again. Was really fun watching the Giants fans raz the Pats fans. 18 and 1! 18 and 1!  The Pats fans were so arrogant before the game. Was great hearing them blast "New York New York" on the PA after the game.  "A #1, top of the heap". The NY fans sang at the top of their lungs. I got pretty buzzed on the 24 oz beers, and played air guitar to Tom Petty at halftime. What a GREAT party!

it's totally unnatural not to be having a party today only missed one of the last 30 years. But it is less work and I'll be able to watch the game instead of talking and entertaining and restocking chips.

I was into my third 24 oz beer (at least) so the playlist memory was hazy, but I do remember having a good time. The folks dancing by the stage were people who signed up for that. They were outside, then the doors open and they let 'em in to dance and act excited, and then they herded 'em right back out to the parking lot as soon as the music was over.

There's nothing like following & loving a team that doesn't always win, and then seeing them win it all.

The Chiefs didn't play nearly as well as I expected, but I didn't know that their Oline was all messed up.

I was surprised after hearing about their Oline issues that they didn't have a better game plan or adjust to more quick passes, screens, reverses, stuff to get the ball out of Mahomes hands quickly and into the hands of his playmakers. It seemed that he was holding the ball & waiting for long developing pass routes to open all game, and he ended up getting smashed for his trouble.

But then their defense didn't play very well either, not nearly as well as they played against the 49ers last year.

Fuckers.

Brady rightfully will get the lions share of credit for this win, but he really didn't have to do much. As is usual in almost all team sport championships, it was ultimately defense that won the game.

But damn, love him or hate him, 10 Super Bowl appearances, 7 Super Bowl wins.

That is really amazing.

Bill Cowher said it right after the game- that TB had the best roster top to bottom in the NFL. Boom- they won it. 

I watched the local news for about an hour after that game, and the 20-30 somethings were all over the place in Tampa and St. Pete with minimal/no masks well into the night...

And his recent toe injury was acting up.   Dude looked broken by the fourth quarter.   Almost felt bad for him getting swarmed and hobbling around play after play.
