Is it set break? Who/what is los muertos?

Dead and String Cheese in Mexico! Los Muertos con Queso

String cheese guys and Bob Weir

What he said.  I hope Bobby is okay.

Just got a text from friends who are there... Jason Hahn from SCI joined them on drums, but they asked if I could research why Bobby is not yet on stage.... pull for Bobby !

So is Bob really MIA?   If so, Vibes south of the border for the BobStar.

Thanks for the reminder. I completely forgot that this was going on.

Found one mention on FB: Show started 30 min late, rest of band did not mention Bobby.... hmmm, hopefully it's just the water.

A post on Reddit also mentions how Bob is MIA:

https://www.reddit.com/r/gratefuldead/comments/5qf304/bob_weir_is_curren..."

So is it now just "muerto" con queso now that its only Bill holding down the GD presence?  Hope Bob is ok.  They did a tribute to Butch last night and that whole thing gives me shivers.

Friends from the fest just texted me that there was finally an announcement: Bobby got sick from the water and food there. Makes sense.

>>>water and food there

Or maybe a bottle of tequila and a senorita like in all those old cowboy songs.  Hope he makes a quick recovery.

Thanks for the stream link, and nice to see you here Mr. 710!!

When I was in Mexico, I drank ONLY the purified water (and Ice made from it). The Ice factory had two kinds; we always paid a few extra pesetas for the clean stuff. Never got the "Revenge" although I ate many street tacos and at several different restaurants.

One thing to look out for at the taco stands: the person handling the food never touches the money, and vice-versa. The family I stayed with has a seafood restaurant right on the water; brothers go out and catch the Fish &/or dive for Lobsters and sisters work in the kitchen. A nice place, great food.

Anyway, most of the places that cater to gringo tourists take care to wash the lettuce in purified water, not tap. Maybe Weir brushed his teeth with tap water.

Yeah Bobby ain't 20 no more.

take it easy, Ace

Maybe Weir brushed his teeth with tap water.<<<

I would tend to wonder what happened, but having brushed my teeth with tap water on my honeymoon in the same area about 11 years ago and getting slammed for 2 days I lean toward this, and certainly hope there is nothing more to be concerned about. If it was the water, it's also probably even tougher at 68 (?) than it was for me at 44. Healing vibes for the esteemed Mr. Weir.

image_54.jpeg  Looks like there was plenty of space - maybe these overpriced destination shows have run their course.

If you have the cash and want to make the show all power to you.

The only time that I attempted to go to one of these was for the first Mule Island Exodus.  The price so turned me off that I've haven't considered it again.

Phish at Playa Maya last week was sold out, and looked pretty packed from the webcast.

Phish is a way better band than Los Muertos Con Queso

lol

"It was the most massive crowd that ever turned out for any concert anywhere! Phish had half the turnout Los Muertos had! The jamband media is all fake news. SAD!"

Looks like a fun place ...
