Jimmy Herring new band...

Herring, drums, bass, and 2 keyboard players.  Cool.

Sipe is killer - played with ARU and Leftover among others.

Jason Crosby is fantastic - plays TXR with a wide variety of peeps and often with Phil.

Very cool that Jason Crosby is finally in a band and gets to put his talent on display. And this should also be a great vehicle for the immense songwriting talent of Mr. Herring.

this will rage pretty hard

The last band that totally blew me away was the Jimmy Herring Band.  Looking forward to catching one of these shows.  Sipe is one of the best players out there.

Sipe IS killer.  One too many keyboard players IMHO, should be a hot band though.

Can't wait and agree with you 100% Bucky on Crosby.

TY Fafa. At times I wonder if Crosby has been blacklisted or something.

Very interesting.

My take on Crosby, and plenty of other musicians, is that the guy needs to work year round and the bands that he gets involved with only do small tours or sometimes only 1-2 shows.  It's very hard for a working musician to make it in the jamband scene.  Most of the bands that work year round have the keyboard slot filled. He'd be better off taking a job as touring musician in a main stream band. Work 4 months, pay the bills than coast playing small tours the rest of the year.   Easier said then done...

Him not being in a band full time is certainly not for lack of talent.

The one-off, be in several bands model seems to be the new paradigm, locally here for sure.

Of course dinos like me still seek the band gang, with rehearsals and arraignments like the old trio.

Maybe that is why it is taking so long, did  find a great bass player "only" forty miles away.

Hope springs eternal.

Jimmy is the man

Stupid band name but the players look interesting.

Yes, Dise, but his drummer's name is Apartment-Q258, so what do you expect?

Leftover Herring

This looks great! Then in the fall you have the tour with McLaughlin really looking forward to that.

Jason and Jimmy should be explosive.

IMO the more fusion orientated this is the better it will be, and from the look of the lineup I would expect it to be leaning that way; is there a singer in that group?

No need for a singer in a fusion group.

Either way I'll certainly look to check this out.

That is a silly name.

Go WEST, Jimmy!

The last band that totally blew me away was the Jimmy Herring Band.<<<

Saw that band at a Pinnacle N.C. fest in 2012...loved it.

Hoping this new band does a ''reachable" gig. The World Cafe Live is bailing at The Queen in Wilmington at the end of May and there is some scuttlebutt that it may become a House of Blues. One can hope.

NIce. This should be cool. I'll definitely have to catch them when they come around. I'd like to see that tour w/ John McLaughlin as well. That should make for a good show.

Yay!
