My brother is taking my nephew to look at CU today and was a little freaked out at first, but he's just getting out of DIA.
I used to live a couple blocks away from that King Soopers.

I'm numb and feel a deep sadness about today's events. This is the single worst thing that has ever happened in Boulder. The bubble just burst. I have been in many of the businesses in that shopping center. The Southern Sun is there. I really don't know what to say except that I'm bummed. Stay safe out there folks. Peace.

They just identified the perpetrator as Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa who "spent most of his life in the United States." That will certainly inform the narrative in regards to mental illness and access to firearms.

I did recognize a peer's name on the list from the Aurora theater shooting. Not a friend, but an associate through work stuff.

Yeah, there's a lot of f'd up things in that video. You touched upon at least two of them. Not sure there was anything that could be done for the people who were shot and laying on the ground, and it's easy for me to say, but I sure as f*ck wouldn't be focused on filming if there was even the slightest chance there was something I could do to help.

Let's take a moment to think about the victims. Around here there seems to be about 6 degrees of separation until you know somebody who knew one of the victims or someone who was in the store and survived. This has really affected the community at large. Let's see if we can step up our kindness towards each other. Show love.
