I was 15 and we were out of weed. My friend heard you could eat a bunch and get high. So we ate a bunch (we packed a bunch of empty capsules... like 50) and waited all night. Nothing.
The next day I was at the King of Prussia Mall with my Mom and was floating. In hindsight, it was like a modern day edible buzz. Noticeable, yet good for public consumption.
Never did it again. I don't think I've run out of weed since 1983.
People with nutmeg intoxication experience a variety of symptoms, including drowsiness and hallucinations. There is, however, only a small amount of research on nutmeg intoxication.
One studyTrusted Source looked at cases of nutmeg poisoning at the Illinois Poison Center. The researchers reviewed the literature over a 10-year period and looked at 32 documented cases. They found that the most common symptoms of nutmeg poisoning included:
hallucinations
drowsiness
dizziness
dry mouth
confusion
seizure (in two cases)
Another case study involved a 37-year-old female who consumed 2 teaspoons (roughly 10 grams) of nutmeg. She presented at the emergency department with symptoms that included confusion, incoherent speech, and drowsiness.
The symptoms above usually occur within 3–8 hours of the person ingesting the nutmeg and can last for roughly 10 hours.
I knew a well-travelled guy back in the day whom ate a lot of Nutmeg, freshly ground, in strong tea (I think in Mexico or Brazil?). Anyway, he loved it and said it was mildly trippy but the dreams while sleeping were completely outrageous in a great way....but one reported downside was intense and painful hard-ons the next morning.
When I worked at Woodbury Ski + Racquet I did the same but at night. It pretty much consisted of drawing water from the stream at the bottom of the hill to make the snow,,, so we had to keep feeding a wood fire at that spot to keep the pipe from freezing up solid, and if it did we banged the ice off with a chunk of the firewood. That or you worked the hill, which consisted of whacking, with a long push broom handle, the ice that was forming on the snow making jets. Owner Rod Taylor (bless his soul) spared no expense on snow making technology. Good times.
