He's on tour soon and in huge places across America and one of the few small places he's playing is down the road about 25 minutes. Only I think 1000 people. Figure it's the last time I'll get to see him. I imagine it will be a short night but it will be worth it in the end to see a living legend. Hope he doesn't cancel.

Sadly, dude will probably not
Sadly, dude will probably not be performing much longer so see him while you still can.
I tried to pay for Willie tickets last time he came to town, but it was sold out. It was at the Edgefield, however, where you go and hang out on the property outside the official fenced off venue area where the music is loud and clear (better than the lawns at some sheds) but you just can't really see the stage. As long as you are buying beers, the venue doesn't care and its a big party. I tried to sneak in, but it didn't work out. Got to see the dude through a gap in the fence and had a great time nevertheless.
Tim, will your boy be playing football this upcoming year?

How can you not like Willie?
How can you not love Willie?
I've seen him multiple times over many years and honestly was always a bit underwhelmed. It was always a good show, but always pretty much the same, more a cookie-cutter exhibition than a real rockin' show, and always with a very mild, older crowd, sort of a moms at the fair kind of thing. I thought his best era live was late '70s/early '80s when he had his full band with two drummers, right around the time he made the Honeysuckle Rose movie.
Quite a few years ago now he started doing a few shows at the Fillmore about once a year. Because I felt I'd seen him & his show often and the tix were really expensive I skipped those, until about four years ago when I thought what the hell, and went to one.
Willie had pared his band down to just a few members with the drummer using just a bass drum & snare, and he pretty much talked/"Shatnerized" most of his songs, but it was one of the best shows I'd seen in a while and easily the best Willie show I've ever seen.
At the Fillmore it was a completely different crowd and vibe, the place a raging, rockin' honky-tonk and a blue cloud smoke-out. I remember thinking it was more a Hank Williams Jr. show than a Willie show, and he just fed off that rock 'n roll energy and ripped.
It was great.
The man is a legend who isn't going to last forever, and even if he can't really sing anymore he's still worth seeing.

I have seats in the back for $150. Only $7 service fee. So Total $157 per ticket. FUCK THE FEES TODAY! I'll try and take pics if possible. I know Willie used to hang out and sign autographs years ago. I doubt he can do that now. He has a day off before and 2 days off after. I know he's played there before. I bet he likes it there as it's a pretty cool town. Saw Mickey Hart there in I think 1999 and Babatunde Olatunji showed up and played a few songs with him.

Never have seen Willie in
Never have seen Willie in person. Always imagined it was like a hillbilly rapture or something when he breaks into Whiskey River.
