Black History Month at the White House

Littlefinger's comments on Martin Luther King today, in honor of Black History Month:

Where was that from? I'm having a hard time believing he used the British spelling of "favorite," and added the "u."

Transcript was from somebody retweeted by Rick Wison, I think...I confirmed it with this:   http://theconcourse.deadspin.com/a-full-transcript-of-donald-trumps-blac...

here's WP transcript (favorite spelled normally):

Frederick Douglass is an example of somebody who’s done an amazing job and is being recognized more and more, I noticed.

Douglass has done an amazing job? This idiot has no idea who Frederick Douglass is.

After three hours to prep a response, here's the White House take on Frederick Douglas:

Shit. Show.

The press has to get better at this. The follow up question to Spicer should have been

"Like his work with NASA?"

I'm surprised that the Trump regime  didn't say how we all suffered under slavery, Jim Crow, etc without even mentioning black people - just like they did with the Holocaust remembrance. Everyone suffered, just think of all the sacrifices the Nazi's had to make, they even had to work weekends manning the ovens!

I just re-read Littlefinger's first line.

MLK's "example was unique in American History"?

Leadership I buy.

But "example"?  Was he the only one on his marches?

more people setting a "unique" example:

So very painful to watch unfold.

I know we (US) have held ourselves up probably higher than we are/were over the years, but we have become a laughingstock on the global stage.

"Look at my African American over here! Look at him!"

Will they be honoring the cultural impact of hip hop at the white house this year?

I have watched the two Frederick Douglass clips about 4 times and I have laughed myself silly.  esp the Spicer one.  Like no one thought to say whisper "That was a little weird what POTUS said about Frederick Douglass, huh?"
