St. George Theater on Staten Island is a really nice place. The ladies that run it have put in a TON of time and sweat to restore it from what it was. Absolutely shocked that they booked Hot Tuna based on what they've had in there in the past, but I'll take it! Hoping that they are branching out a little bit more with the musical acts. It's about a 7 minute walk from the SI ferry, so if you're thinking about coming over from one of the other boroughs, it's not that terrible a commute- grab a beer on the ferry, enjoy the ride. There are some nice restaurants/bars around the area, and the Flagship Brewery is walkable from the theater as well.
Might have to check out the St. George show. Seems like a beautiful theatre, ticket prices are good, and then there's the Ferry adventure for even more novelty.
There's a small lot attached to the theater, and a multi level garage down the street. I think it's $8-10. There's some on street parking around if you can find it. The garage is only a block away from the theater.
Miss Rosemary. She passed about six years ago? Miss Rosemary's Dance Studio is just up the street from me. Her daughters are keeping her legacy alive and continuing the renovation/update. When she first bought it, there were pigeons and homeless living in the place, holes in the roof, etc.
Just found out my buddy bought us a pair of Tix. Woot!
I was planning to go but budget was too tight to pull the trigger right now, so I'm reieved that I'm covered for this one. I understand there are less than 20 Tix left at this point.
Might organize a car service for 6 people leaving from Union County, NJ so we don't have to worry about driving.
Take the 2/3 from Penn Station down to Chambers, then transfer to the 1. You have to be in the first five cars of the train to be able to get out at south ferry.
the ferry runs every 30 minutes throughout the night.
Took the ferry ride just for grins & giggles w/ Zoner ToreUp a couple years back. She was visiting her Kinfolk for Xmas time; we did fun Tourist stuff all day. It was fun and unique, as I have no recollection of ever having been on the ferry before that. It was a beautiful, crisp chilly Winter day.
The night prior 4/13/2017 Jorma is performing a special intimate solo event at The Space @ Westbury Theater as a benefit for Long Island Autism Communities.
I haven't seen Jorma solo in a coon's age. I want to go bad.

OK so I called the Box Office & got a pair of front mezzanine tix.
Orchestra seats are scarce (maybe ticketbastard haz ?)
Fascinating history; opened 1929, dead about 1977. They tried nightclub, antique showroom, roller disco and all failed.
Current resurrection spearheaded by some Dance guru lady 2003-2004 who formed a non-profit org.
Check out their website with Kool foto gallery.

Thanks SI-Head.
So cool that Miss Rosemary got into rescuing an Historical Landmark from the wrecking ball.
Like we need yet another strip-mall or parking-lot?
And thanks to Hot Tuna for selecting Cool venues to play :)
I look forward to riding that Boat to the ferry Station at Tax Day. May have to take the 4 AM train back to Jerseyland, but so what.

Phaldo,
Phaldo,
I have your extra ticket for Staten Island, Front Mezzanine center, if you will attend.
My plan is to take the Staten Island Ferry from Whitehall Station, about a 25 minute boat ride.
Apparently the boats run 24/7 and Whitehall is accessible from Penn NYC by subway.
Get in touch, or I will see you there.
