Can't believe I have to ask but it has been so long since I've been there and I have no idea what is even still open anymore. Looks like the bar behind the Chronicle on Stevenson is gone or at least not listed on Google maps. I can't even remember the name, and Tu Lan's is closed on weekends.
Anyway has anyone have some up to date recommendations for bars and food around the Warfield?

If you're talking about the Tempest, it's still there and open.
Like most of us, it's been since before the plague that I've been in the area, but since I generally always park at the 5th & Mission garage when I go to the Warfield I know of a couple of Italian restaurants right around there that I believe are operating; The Mint, on a little street/alley directly behind the old Mint building on 5th is good, and Soma, located in the Pickwick hotel right across the street from the garage is open and that place is OK as well.

Yes the Tempest. Good to hear it's still open. Drank a lot of beer in that place which might have something to do with my memory loss.

I remember 2-2-90 at the Warfield being excellent.
2-2-91 wasn't too shabby either. (First open-to-the- public Garcia Grisman show).
Now it's 2-2-22. Where does the time go........
That big mall a block away has a bunch of restaurants; also that food hall at the corner of Golden Gate and Market.
