March 8; International Women's Day

Forums:

Not quite the same this year with all that's happening in Eastern Europe and Ukraine (meanwhile, waiting for the breast biopsy results of a very dear friend, so times are stressed here too)

Peace to all, and one Luv

Happy international Zoner women's day.

Women of the world, unite!

Women! We do kick ass! Celebrating us all.

Nooder, I am holding your dear friend in my heart, hoping for best possible results. It can be so hard to wait for results and also breast biopsies can leave one in a lot of pain. If there is a malignant process, I hope it can be dealt with with relative ease. I also hope that she has a good advocate to go through everything with her. Damn it, I hate the whole subject. All best wishes to you and your friend.

FUCK CANCER!

Where would any of us be without a woman. Even Father Lonergan had a mother.

The much better half, most certainly. With more and more women in places of power, wars might become nonexistent one day, hopefully.

((((((((( benign )))))))))

I look forward to a time when we don't need celebrations like this one.

((((( Women )))))

Right after I made my post, I received this somewhat odd email from one of the schools I teach at.

Hats off to the M' Ladies.

"Women are leaders for all people.

Women change the game.

Women use their platforms to advocate for those who need it.

Women raise future leaders who believe in equity, equality, and justice.

Women fight for a better world for girls & women.

Happy International Women’s Day!" - Billie Jean King

Mike, what's odd about that? Is it her last name or something else?

Just her last name, judit. I understand Mankiller was the first female chief of the Cherokee Nation, but the juxtaposition of her last name with the theme of the day just seemed odd to me.

((thanks for the luv Judit!!!))

So I had to look deeper, glad I did;

“One of the things my parents taught me, and I'll always be grateful . . . is to not ever let anybody else define me; [but] for me to define myself . . .”

I know you know who she was, mike. Thanks for the about what was odd to you.

Is every other day Men's Day?

There was a tumor, but it was benign, doing the happy dance with hugs!

That is awesome Noodler!

OK womens, so it is 3/9.  Get back in the kitchen where you belong.

You're a brave man, Mark. At least it plays like brave from one angle, but it could be something else entirely.

Best news, Noodler! I'm so happy for her and you and her friends/family.

Dream on, Mark.

LOL
