New record? I didn't see a new one on my streaming service.
The double album, Chris, has been exclusively released for purchase on his web site for a period of one week and then will be dropped to the streaming services. I think that we will be seeing that business model take hold going forward since that at least gives the artist some additional revenue. The simple reason I don't subscribe to any streaming service is that so little of the generated income goes to the artist. I don't work for nothing or next to nothing and don't feel an artist should either. Support artists if you can.
Def not gonna spend $20 for mp3's.
I'll support the artist if the artists supports quality.
To be fair, Ryan's e-mail did say:
"If you can’t afford this and want to hear it, please know it’s cool if your buddy wants to share it with you. My first Black Flag record was on side 2 of a blank cassette and it changed my life."

He is aware of the mp3 issue and is figuring out a solution. I am not a fan of that format either but they don't sound bad at all. I believe the thought process was get some income flowing then make it better.
For those interested, Chris is now on some streaming services. I'm not sure which ones as I don't stream and trying to dig out the information from DRA's social stream of consciousness is a task better left to others. It's worth searching out.
It also seems that Mr. Adams isn't resting on his laurels and will be releasing 3 more albums shortly, one of which will be another double album like Chris. Looks like 4 albums in one year in 2022.
