That's not her real name that's just what I call her. She's the only dog at the dog park that gets away with the shit she does. Whenever a dog trys to get too close to daddy (me), my boy keeps em back with a friendly growl and body blocking ,,, except for old grizzle. The 1st time the ol girl saw me at the park she came right over demanding a butt scratch, and when Salem came over to tell her to get back, she gave him a snarl growl that got him to take a step back,,, as if to say ' back up kid, he's my daddy now'. Her actions continue to this day, it's funny as hell, the only dog to get away with it.
Had a nice outing at Lawson's Bar in SW Oregon on Saturday, around 60 showed up, including a few noted dignitaries. The South Umpqua River and Cow Creek meet here (both rich in gold), and this channel outside the main river gets reloaded with flood gold every year, so a fun place to teach newbies. Lots of gold was found, a good time had by all. This was mostly NW Oregon folks (didn't get the Grants Passers), which was quite noticeable, as I didn't see a single MAGA hat, no politics was discussed (outside of gold mining), I didn't see any booze, not even a beer can... but I was offered acid, shrooms, and weed by many... think I like partying with the northern miners more than the southerners, lol
Dakota Fred Hurt showing off his homemade boot (one leg is much shorter than the other).
Saw a great show on Friday, "That Coyote", playing all original prog rock!
We did a couple weeks, starting with my daughter and her boyfriend (a birder) in Monte Verde, down to Quepos/Manuel Antonio, then we split off and went to the Osa for a week. Beautifully underdeveloped, wild jungle. Saw a wide range of wildlife. Tons of waterfalls. Plentiful weed (I'll set you up with The Guy).
Spent our last 2 days in Uvita near the Whale's Tail.
I plan on resizing some photos from this trip and our Patagonia trip from January in the Travel folder.
Saturday at the repub convention. SYF, mo-fo'er Mike Lee. Make America Grateful Again.
I feel conflicted. After his treatment of the former guy, and Kentanji Brown Jackson, I wanted to tell him face to face he was a despicable mo-fo of a human, and I could have.
But I didn't. And it's weird to feel bad that I didn't take the opportunity to unload a bunch of negative crap into the world. I stayed peaceful and considerate. Fuck.
In a celebration of Hofmann's 100th birthday in 2006, Hofmann told the crowd of well-wishers – which included 2,000 researchers, scientists, artists and historians – that "LSD wanted to tell me something. It gave me an inner joy, an open mindedness, a gratefulness, open eyes and an internal sensitivity for the miracles of creation."
Hofmann was also the first scientist to synthesize psilocybin, the active ingredient in psilocybin mushrooms, in 1958.
