Warning !! Sled - Dog content...

Forums:

Probably one of my best-kept secrets is that a fine Siberian Hüsky lives here on the Farm.

No one has ever seen a photo of that Animal, so perhaps I'll post one sometime.

What you might not believe is that we have a Sled-Dog racing team here in Jerseyland,  and they Mush around in the State Forest trails.

Not a hyperactive group; their website is a bit outdated.  And, we have not had a lot of Snow this Winter (yet).

But I've been in touch with some of the group, and hoping to go for a training session this weekend.

My belief is that he (the Hound) will fit right in.  I do have a harness for H.I.M. although it's not a pro style harness.

Here is their website, take a look at the photos and such:

They got sleds w/ wheels for warm-weather mushing practice, Stu.

These threads have really just become a cry for help.

my daughter is home for a few months taking grad classes at umaine and brought this beast with her. His name is Bruce, but you can call him B.R.U.C.E.

It's Ok Jr.  Many are jealous of the beautiful canine.

Some day you will be responsible enough to tend a Guppy,  Hermit Crab  or Hamster.

Most states don't require a license for those.

Eventually you could trust yourself enough to Co-Exist with a full-grown mammal.

Baby steps, dude &/or dudess.

B.R.U.C.E.  is a Fine-looking Hound.  What a Cutie !!

I just want to feed H.I.M. Salmon roasts & Venison burgers.

Our pup, she's around 8 years old.

Enjoying the thread. Go pups!

B.R.U.C.E. is only 8 mos. He will be a big boy.

^^

Eight years young, still flying through the Snow !!

Beauty Pup, Mr. Backroads.

In the photo with the colorful rope-toy, my Dog is about 8-9 months, maybe 60-64 lbs.

Now at 2 3/4 yrs. he is 75-76 lbs.

I'm guessing 80 is about his upper limit.  I can not foresee overweight problems, as he does not gorge like say,  a Labrador.

Fussy with the food.

Fairly common site at Grateful Dead shows:

Is that foghorne wearing sweat pants in the first pic?

Mr. Across,

The sweatpants in that photo are worn by my Nephew,  original Caretaker of Hüsky.

He got "The pick of the litter" in Lake Tahoe, CA and raised that hound in Truckee, CA.

Little Pup was about 8 weeks old when Nephew brought H.I.M. home.

So when Nephew moved back East,  there arose a situation which required a House-move, and Hüsky suddenly was in no-kill Dog shelter.

Fortunately, I heard of this change of events and drove out to PA in order to bail H.I.M. out.

Eastertime 2 years ago.   Having met the Pup already, I told the Nephew "Call that Shelter and tell them your Uncle is adopting H.I.M."

Nephew has first rights to Dawg re-ownership if I can not continue to provide a Good Home, and we have had some visits over time.

Got groupon spam for Deep Purple (w/ Alice Cooper & Edgar Winter !) and their imagery is chock full of sled-dawgs. Didn't know they were fans.

Stu, you have to find a way to go to that Deep Purple show now. You know that right?

They've actually got a rather extensive Tour scheduled.

Spam I got was for Camden.
