I love Absinthe in Hayes Valley neighborhood for a nice bistro lunch... but that place is really closer to BGCC.
For GAMH, there are a lot of small places w/in 2 blocks...here are a few that have higher Google ratings:
Brenda's French Soul Food (very close to The Phoenix rock Hotel).
Amsterdam Cafe / beer hall
Kuma Sushi
Napoli Pizza

No, I believe Taj and Ry were recording for a live release. These are the only two shows they are doing. It was amazkng watching Ry play, what an amazing player. This will be the show of the yesr for me for sure!

I took these two from my seat upstairs near the end of the show. Didn't see many iPhones out during this show, which fit the old-times flavor of the show.
it was an interesting show. Seemed a little off the cuff. Maybe since it's just the two shows, they didn't feel like rehearsing heavily. It was really cool seeing them utilize so many diffferent instruments. They played some of the Sonny & Brownie tunes off their new album, and also played some covers by others, including John Lee Hooker, Jesse Fuller, and Mississippi John Hurt.
Enjoyed meeting you both, LLOLLO and Zooey. The dinner at Greens was perfect.

I also went the second night. They did pretty much the same set with some different banter. To me the second show sounded a little better, but that may have been because my seat was centered on the floor instead of off to the side. They seemed to be having a lot of fun with it. Maria Muldaur was in the audience and Taj pointed her out as a "luminary."
I took some photos of the stage before the show. Security was pretty vigilant about keeping the floor free of photos, audio, and video.
