How was the rain and the scene?

A fun, well-played show at Marymoor, among the misty rain and tall pines.  My first time seeing Stu Allen and Tony Leone, and I was impressed by both.  Graham has developed into a solid player, and Steve Molitz was rock solid.  Phil was playing great and seemed happy with this band.

The rain started almost on cue with the first notes of Cumberland, but never got too heavy, stopping altogether for most of the 1st set and intermission.  Given the dicey weather and it being a Sunday night, it was a decent sized crowd of mostly older 50-70 something Heads.  It was cool hearing Friend Of The Devil in the encore slot.  Dylan had just played it there the night before in Oakland.  Phil's playing was as solid as ever, but when he did the donor rap and introduced the band before the encore, it was a reminder that he's getting older, as his speaking voice is much thinner.  He is looking healthy though, standing upright, his silvery hair thick and lustrous.

Glad I decided to go.  Missoula should be good.

With Molo and Bowling!

Wish I could go. Bet there is sunshine out there.

I think my Seattle taper friend was there, but haven't heard back yet.

Comments from Seattle taper buddy:

“Show was vg and wet!  Phil seemed pretty focused.  We got a long viola lee and a lsd. I almost got thrown out for pot smoking so got sidetracked for a bit--- "

He sent this response when I asked about LMA upload…

“ I had a couple stops on 1st set.   Only other Seattle taper - John - will upload to archive.”

There's flooding in Montana right now, Yellowstone is closed due to bridges washing out, be safe!

Flood watch in Portland, too!

Noodler -- idea for an Instagram account that I bet you could get sponsors for:  Noodler's Music Tour Meteorological forecasts  (yes, title is too long).
All you'd have to do is hashtag various tours and post images of the forecast.... and that wouldn't take any time at all, ;-).

Signed, a Weather Report fan.

Fun time. Great to see Phil Lesh up close. Spent the show with Althea and Co. on/near the rail. Great friendly crowd.

Phil's grandson had him put picachu up on an amp. Funny as Phil was holding a giant picachu abve his head, missed the shot.

Music was, OK. Phil still played very well. The sound up front was not real great, but I just wanted to see the man up close again.

Would like to see the band with molo, tony is not molo or russo...particle dude was good. Stu seemed to not really take off...all in all a fun show.

Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds (pretty much complete)

Bits of Dire Wolf and Jack Straw. It looks like it was raining pretty good.

Thanks for the pics and reports.

Much appreciated.

Great photo Turtle! Glad you had a good time; thanks for the observations.

Go to a Dylan show if you can.

Thanks Noodler

Phil is still the luckiest man in the world!
