Just saw another report that he walked off the stage and was waving, so maybe he just fainted.
(or too much tequila)
All reports were that he was real good at Shoreline last week. I wanted to go but just didn't have enough oomph.
A good friend just moved to Las Vegas and I've been planning on using that as an excuse to get to one of Santana's shows when he starts up again there.
Well, I don't know if he's still drinking, but he is part owner of Casa Noble, and I can tell you for a fact that it used to be a mandatory part of his dressing room, and that the bottle was always empty after the show.
Whatever the issue, he's one of the gods... just be good Carlos!
From Team Santana: Rock Legend Carlos Santana was over-taken by heat exhaustion and dehydration during a concert Tuesday (July 5) evening in Michigan. The guitar great was taken from his show at Pine Knob Music Theatre (formerly DTE Energy Music Theatre), an outdoor amphitheater in Clarkston, some 40 miles northwest of Detroit, Michigan. Carlos was taken to the emergency department at McLaren Clarkston for observation and is doing well, it was announced by Santana’s manager Michael Vrionis tonight. “The show with Earth, Wind & Fire for tomorrow July 6th at The Pavilion at Star Lake (formerly the S&T Bank Music Park) in Burgettstown, PA will be postponed to a later date. More details to follow thru Live Nation,” Mr. Michael Vrionis added.
It's a horrible thing to be at a show and see one of the performers collapse.
I saw it happen to Jaimoe at an Allman Bros. show, but he didn't completely drop, he just sagged and needed to be helped off the stage.
I've only see a full drop once, when Brian Wilson fully collapsed between songs at one of his shows. Paramedics and the whole nine yards, taking him off stage on an ambulance stretcher, it was pretty horrifying.
But when he got back stage he sat up & laughed. It turned out that it was a "prank". He thought it was funny little joke and came back out and finished his show.

Saw Carlos less than two
Saw Carlos less than two weeks ago and he and his band were firing on all cylinders. Probably the second best Santana show I had seen.
Hope he rests up and is back in the saddle again soon. The world still needs Carlos Santana.

I saw the Bobby stage drop during El Paso at Nokia Further show. The rest of the band just played through it.
Russo had just laughed at the state Bob was in as he started the show. Not a greatest moment for BW
