Sux...and some people freak on the high and increasingly common THC pings. So can those 80% start collecting on some of those big court settlements too?
The back of my property abuts a field, owned by the State. The State leases it out to a farmer, who grows feed corn. Two years ago a new crew took over.
As soon as they harvest in the Fall they plant a cover crop. In mid-May they plant the corn and drop fertilizer pellets with it. I'm he first week of June the corn is up, it so is that cover crop. They come through and spray Roundup, and the cover crop is gone in 3 days.
The saying around here is, "knee high by the 4th of July." This Montsanto robo-corn defies nature. Today, July 9, it's well over 5' tall.
Brian, do you have 'plants' on your said situated adjacent property?..........
Mike, for some potential clarity:
...and some people freak on the ALREADY high and increasingly common POSITIVE THC TEST OUTCOMES in urinalyses samples. This has been cited as a contributing cause to the CDL/DOT truck driver shortage as well as some of the overall labor market mismatch woes.
The native prairies of the Great Plains have been decimated by decades of poison, but non selective, broad leaf herbicides like glyphosate absolutely do the most damage. Commercial, gmo Ag sucks shit. The farmers who make those choices are not "stewards of the land" by any means.
I do smile in the early summer when i see plants that show herbicide resistance. Nice big green middle fingers saying, "keep trying assholes, we'll always win".
Your rewrite makes sense, Strawbud, but I couldn't decode what you posted previously.
> I don't eat gmo garbage. I know that that does not protect me completely, as even some organics have traces, but probably safer than most.
I don't know, Mark. The article says that glyphosate is sprayed "over non-genetically engineered crops such as wheat and oats as a desiccant to dry crops out prior to harvest." And they also mention that "the primary route of exposure for children is through the diet," which to me implies that environmental exposure is another way we soak up this crap.
Mike, pretty sure food cannot be labeled as organic if it has been sprayed on it. That does suck when non-gmo plants are sprayed. Needs to be part of the label. What percent glyphosate is in this food?
> food cannot be labeled as organic if it has been sprayed on it
Mark, that's not correct. There are organic pesticides that are sprayed, and from what I'm reading, organic pesticides are not safe, and "might actually be worse than the ones used by the conventional agriculture industry."
I imagine there can also be situations where an organic farm is situated near a farm that uses an herbicide like Roundup, and the wind carries some of it to neighboring fields.
The bigger issue is when a field of Monsanto corn pollinates an organic (or even non organic) corn field and the robo-corn dominates. Monsanto then she's the other farmer for unauthorized use of their trademark, and puts the small farmer out of business.
End of the day, I don't think it's correct to negate anything and everything GMO. For instance, there are drought tolerant and high yield crops that have been keeping millions and millions of Africans from not starving. They can be insured 3x the yield per acre, regardless of weather. It's a double-edged sword.
But Round-Up, that's a whole other story. Even as Bayer (they bought Monsanto) is paying out millions in lawsuits on the stuff, they are still able to sell it. I don't get it.

Man you don't wanna know wtf is inside of you. So much shit it's scary, from plastic to chemicals I've never heard of.
National Geographic has a great breakdown but it's a join to read article.
This one's ok but there's plenty of science info out there on what we are. And it ain't just billion year old carbon.

My body's fighting back with massive doses of home made, and grown goodies. And my artisan well pumps really good high in minerals water.
Not to mention mass quantities of great weed.

Portland is known for "good" tap water, given its source on Mt. Hood.
I've been looking for a new filtered water pitcher as I no longer have a Brita pitcher.
I found this water quality database to be interesting... just add your zip code: https://www.clearlyfiltered.com/pages/water-quality-in-my-area
Portland's water has a few carcinogens that are above "recommended minimums"...
