i was there , i was part of the stagehand rigging crew, in the documentary, when they talk about the security bailing at ' The Alamo ' i and 8 other stagehands were sent out to button up the siding and keep the hordes off the structure, hammers were swung and people were struck. we were taking incoming fire of everything they could throw at us. it was fucking mayhem, we watched Rage Against the Machine after Limp Bizkit from the Alamo and it was finally slowed down by the time Metallica hit the stage.
The stress against the barricades was unbelievable, we could see the pressure manifested in the beams under the stage; there was so much pressure that the beams, under normal circumstances should have some flex in them, the beams were crowning under the pressure and tighter than we'd ever seen before, ever
watching that brought back a lot of , mostly shitty , memories
The whole 94 & 99 Woodstock shows were about greed and making a lot of cash. Didn't go but could have as was living about 3 hours away. 94 I had a 1 years old daughter who I didn't think bringing her for 3 days was a good idea. Saw it on TV for free instead . 99 was a disaster of Woodstock vibes. But I bet they made some(alot) money not like the first one.
