I have had a wonderful time in Paris meeting many friends and reading poetry. It was a swell place to celebrate my birthday.
Tomorrow I travel on to Amsterdam ~ One of my favorite cities in the known and unknown universe. Yes, I will be making an early visit to the Grey Area.
Even though many Parisians drink like chimneys and smoke like fish, France is way behind the times in reform of cannabis prohibition. I came across a shop in Le Marais that had CBD extracts and actual weed on display. Weed without any THC! I actually LOLd. Weed that will not get you high. What the fuck is wrong with these people? Why even bother? No THC = shitty weed. Not that I have to get high all the time, but it makes me a much happier fellow when I can. I have hopes the French will eventually come to their senses. Paris rocks.
It is great to be traveling again. The last leg of the journey will be New York and I have my ticket for Phil on Halloween.
I will be home in San Francisco on November 8 in time to get out to the polls and VOTE!
In Amsterdam, this place is worth checking out if it's still open.
Conscious Dreams Dreamlounge
Conscious Dreams was the original proponent of the smart drugs wave in Amsterdam. The staff here really know their stuff - the owner worked as a drugs adviser for five years - and you're more or less guaranteed to find whatever you're after. Now a few doors down from its original location, it boasts a bigger, brighter space and internet café.
