My go to for the past couple years when I feel like giving up from dealing with my Mom's passing and the legal hoops of closing her estate (still dealing with for the past year), and becoming the primary care giver for my 56 yo brother who is autistic comes from Willy Wonka. I first saw a sign saying 'Art Saves Lives' in a tiny, below ground rubber stamp shop (stamps for art and office use) in Amsterdam in the '70s. The phrase became my words to live by.
Gotcha. I ran into it in Greenwich Village in the late 70s and didn't know how widespread it was. And of course I'm not anti-art, but I do like provocative things.
Provocateurs ... I think that's part of what we're on earth for; it's our life and job.
When I was a medical receptionist I felt it was my responsibility to not only do the usual things in my job description but also to provoke and spark people to thought. It was my peace work. Keep it going!
