Phil in Denver February 4, 2023

wowee!  Is Mission Ballroom that newer venue with the good sound system?

Yes it is.

Travel to Denver in February seems risky, though...

Billy Strings also in town February 2-3-4

All sold out...

Wow, good to know about Mr. Strings .... There's always tickets... ;)

...I went to Denver on the last day of April one year for JRAD and it snowed 6 inches between show 1 and show 2 ... got moved from Red Rocks to Broomfield.

Maybe Phil will show up at Billy's show?

Maybe James Casey, anyway.

They were in Billy and the Kids together.

I'm in the age group where indoor concerts are not a great idea. My county's case rate has increased 200 percent in the last two weeks. There is so much great music happening in the next couple of months but I'm making the choice to pass. I'll continue getting my kicks in the great outdoors. Peace.

I would imagine there are more dates forthcoming, it would be weird to just play a ibe off show in Denver in February.

Multiple trips to Denver coming up this winter.  Stars may align.   Not sure I know half of that band above though.

TAB horns; all three sing, too

Goose Guy

The others you know.

Can't wait for the legendary Grahame Lesh to step all over Rick's leads with his chomp chomp chords.

Sounds like a good time.  However, DSO in Sac, SF, SLT.  Will be dancing locally.  If you go,  E N J O Y !

This is a really good band! If you live near Denver, you must go!  This band is almost right up there with the Bethel, NY Levon Helm horn band from this past summer!

I'll be local (Seeing the Stickmen at the WOW Hall in Eugene Feb 8)

Warfield for us

(((we are everywhere)))

Know next to nothing about Denver..

Where would be a good place to spend the night near the venue?

The River District is right by the venue and there is a ton of brewery and food joints there, all within walking distance of the venue. One of the breweries has a great rooftop view of the mountains, a little expensive though. Looks like a few options close by to stay

Recommend this joint if you go.   Get there early or late but not in between.   Great jams

Good aiirfare alert from West Coast: I have a RT to Denver in my cart for under $170!
I've got a free place to stay in Denver, too.

Sale ends at 11:59PM PST on AlaskaAir.com

Will I or won't I?
Wish I had time to drive.

Groundhog's Day in Denver!  Hope it's sunny and snowy.

Thanks again Zooey!

...I just learned that February 4 is the first day of Spring in the 2023 Chinese calendar !

..and that reminded me of Chinese NY run at Oakland Coliseum in the late 80s.

Inwonder how well this show is selling. The Warfiedl sold out pretty quickly

^Except that tickets do remain available for The Warfield, albeit at AXS resale and platinum levels, for around $250 each.

In light of this now-standard fandangled scam, is it or was it ever actually 'sold out'?

At least from my POV "sold out" means original face valuetickets no longer available, but I hear you.

...and they are currently forcing a minimum purchase of 2 Tix per show (ie No Singles - so there must be plenty of actual availability).

And yes, I hear you as well. The scam secondary market swallowed up the initial on-sale tix @ "face". GA @ Denver are still available for $75 which may be original "face" but I am not certain of that.

^^^ I bought a pre-sale ticket and it was $75 + fees.

^^^^^.... because Billy is free that night, ;-)

YES I am going Sunday 2/5 and anticipate a electric Billy/Phil showdown hoedown.

^^^^  See ya there.  Kinda excited to experience the true winter temps!

I've never been to the Mission, which is one of the reasons I'm traveling.

I impulsively bought tickets to the 2/5 show, then decided not to go.

They are ADA reserved seats in the East Balcony. Does anyone need these?

Maybe.... How much $?

Make me an offer. [email protected]

They cost me $75 + fees each, but I'm not planning to use them and I don't want to sell them on AXS or StubHub because I don't want to get 1099'd on a loss.

hmmm, maybe i could trade my extras for BMFS tickets!

will post to CoT and see what happens

if i had flexibility to change my ticket (not) i would love to arrive earlier for the JGB run

Think i'm going to go for the stream...    I love how Phil uses this Horn Section as his choir / vocalists

^^^ hey Noodler!

awesome about the stream, you won't be sorry ... with Molo in the lineup... and the horns do add another layer of color.

at least the low temp on Wednesday in Denver will only be around 12F, LOL

((((((((((THE ROCK THAT BREATHES))))))))))))

& even Jennifer Hartswick!

Thanks Jilly!

Found sunshine and snow in Denver, ...the glare in my eyes this morn, ow.

Oregon winter colors make one want to sleep more hours.

I can take train / bus all the way to Broomfield tonight to try and find a Billy ticket for his night 1, but losing motivation in favor of having fun with my Denver hosts.

Have a fun time Christine.  Going to DSO in Sac Tonight, SF tomorrow + Sat, South Lake Tahoe Sun.

Andy, we'll  see you at the Warfield tomorrow night

Cool Woz.  See you there.

Happy New Year everyone!

I finally get to see a couple of Phil shows. I have only seen Phil 4 times since 2015 which is crazy for how many shows we use to catch!

The shows on Saturday and Sunday are at Mission Ballroom. Parking at the Mission SUCKS and is $25.

They just opened a shuttle to the show from So Many Roads and the shuttle comes with an after party show both nights. The price of the 2 nights shuttle is cheaper than paying to park at the mission and So many Roads is a cool place to hang before and after the shows.

Here is the information- I hope to see some of you!

^^^ oh wow thanks this might work for me on Saturday... got pre-show dinner plans on Sunday, as long as shuttle will drop me off before 6:30 doors.  I have an "skip the line pass" for Saturday.

I think we all know, all this “skip the line” shit that costs extra money would make Jerry vomit, but it is what it is.

It makes me want to vomit, I know that much.

if you're done spewing.....

while I don't need to explain myself, it's a new venue for me and I want to have time to check out the sound system, etc.

are you going ?

I’m not, I don’t live in the area and don’t travel for shows like I used to. I’m not faulting anyone who wants to spend extra on those amenities like the line bypass, it’s your choice, I’m just saying it’s amazing how the concert business keeps finding new ways to get more money for this and that.

Noted, thank you.

"as long as shuttle will drop me off before 6:30 doors."

that could go either way, the shuttle is scheduled to leave at 6 and the venue is about 10 minutes away

" don’t travel for shows like I used to."

I have not traveled for a show since Iron Maiden in July of 2019. Too many shows get last minute canceled these days

Widespread Panic in Austin canceled after everyone arrived

Jrad this week in Atlanta is canceled.

would have sucked to show up in those cities only to have a moose tell me "sorry folks shows canceled."

For those that do not know these shows are being streamed for free at So Many Roads both nights.

...those damned meese!

Wishing everyone safe travels and great shows!
