Dave’s Picks 11/2/69

Even though this thread hasn't gotten much traction as of yet it's still kinda nice not to see any Spotify links so far

Agreed, E. Resolving to step back from subscription platforms in the new year here.

In These Times | Makaya McCraven

Warping All By Yourself | Wet Tuna

Julian Lage - View With A Room

And here's some nice and pastoral Wicker Man psych folk music coming down the Pike in 2023:

Stella Kola | Stella Kola

This guitarist released two sensationally good albums this year that hit me in just the right spot at the right time. Look at how ambitiously diverse the lineups of these records are.

Should have liked to have been at the live performance of these albums when she played them in full with the lineups on the tapes, because that must have been magical.

Amaryllis | Mary Halvorson

Belladonna | Mary Halvorson

Landwerk No. 3 | Nathan Salsburg (beautiful minimalist guitar music mixing tracks from 78 rpm recordings with elegant and tastefully spacious playing)

What Strange Flowers In The Shade | Joseph Allred (release date says 2023, love all the guests artists on each track; something perhaps a little out of leftfield for Mr. Allred)

And this one I am glad to have become aware of ("Quite possibly the greatest living guitar player" - Aquarium Drunkard. Agree.).

The Rambles & Rags of Shiloh | Joseph Allred

Uh oh, Ateix doing the damn thing up in here.

You know me, E.

Now this is one where I was lucky enough to be in the room. Glad that NYCTaper was repping in the room, as well.
