Must have led to some interesting "what happened at school today" conversations that night.

Sad, man

this evil fentanyl shit is everywhere

While this guy's career is probably toast, he will be remembered as "the cool teacher" by the Stoners, Goth Kids, and the students working in the Auto Shop.

Do they still have auto shop ? Let alone wood shop and metal shop.

^nah, those have probably been automated too. LOL. Sux.

...and, no, I am not blind to the the advancement wonders of CNC, PLC, etc. Just the notion of hands-on "dirty work" has seemed to have taken a back seat to technology overall.

And what about home ec?

All of these are so valuable. There are so many fewer repair techs as older folks age out of the work force - the older folks started with these classes in high school or may have has parents who were repair people - the seduction of tech has caused a lot of problems.

Sad story, but Dave, you literally mae me laugh out loud with this ^

For sure, Judit. People are aging out and the youngsters have typically avoided or were never made aware of some of these other important options that were not really 'valued' over the last 2 or 3 decades. It is an ever-growing mess.

^ BIG mess.

The local high school here repaired small engines for people after hurricane Ian at no charge (outdoor marine academy)

^that also is a significantly large piece of the puzzle, Judit.

Happy to hear that, Fabes! Good Stuff.

Nice, Fabes

You mean shop class isn't for making bongs anymore?

no wonder why nobody signs up

and i agree judit. Employers don't have a worker problem. Workers have a wage problem.

Health issues are usually not cause to fire a teacher.
What will people complain about more in the near future:

  a.  The teacher kept their job.

  b.   The American government is still poisoning its citizens and funding organized crime by perpetuating a failed war on drugs.

   ?

So, the guy fixed right there in the classroom? Or smoked?

guy is 57

"our age"

for the most part

wonder what kind of healthcare he gets with that job

In Jersey the medical benefits are pretty good. Expensive but good. At 57if he's been a teacher for that long he probably makes over 100k as well.
