spoke by phone with Eula Rochard, a Brazilian drag queen who was friends with George Santos when he lived near Rio. She said everyone knew him as Anthony (*never* George), or by his drag name, Kitara, and confirms this photo is from a 2008 drag show at Icaraí Beach.

Facts didn't get us to where we are now, nor do I believe they'll get us out of it.
After having read a lot about the Holocaust and WW2 in recent times, it sure seems like we're now sticking our collective toes in the water where brute force trumps reason. There are a gazillion witness accounts of violence being inflicted upon others "without cause" ... contrary to a quaint notion that violence needs to be grounded in some sort of logic for it to be carried out. While we might not be there yet, it sure seems like the initial bricks of such a road are being laid into place.

Hopefully this fraud ends up doing significant jail time (2 to 3 years at least). Seems the Justice Department worked quite quickly to investigate this guy and found him lacking in a big way when it comes to honesty. If we want our government to function somewhat rationally and intelligently we need the Justice Department to get serious about prosecuting crooks within the system. Justice Department needs to issue a new opinion that the POTUS can be indicted while in office if the facts of a crime warrant it. Seems totally crazy that the holder of that office can't be indicted until they are out of office. WTF.

The names of two people who
The names of two people who worked together to pay bond for embattled Congressman George Santos have been released, minutes ahead of a judge’s order.
The congressman’s father, Gercino Dos Santos, and aunt, Elma Santos Praven, were the two who together signed to bond out the New York Republican on 10 May; the congressman is accused of committing more than a dozen crimes, including fraud. A third had initially been reported by Axios, but apparently backed out due to the media speculation.
According to court documents, the full $500,000 was not raised; however, a judge deemed that the two “could provide the necessary moral suasion” to ensure Mr Santos’s compliance with the terms of his bond.
He is accused of countless acts of deception thanks to telling a wide range of lies about his background, as well as more serious allegations like using campaign cash for personal expenses as well as receiving unemployment benefits while a sitting member of Congress.
It was a shocking amount of dishonesty made all the more brazen by the congressman’s refusal to step down amid bipartisan calls for him to do so; a vast majority of voters in his district want him gone, according to polls. But despite being stripped of committee memberships by Speaker Kevin McCarthy, the New York Republican remained a House member in (relatively) good standing even after his arrest last month.
