Anyway, do to weather and whatnot, I just got my garlic planted on 2/1.  2 months later than usual and one month later than last yr.

Drosera Capensis, or the Cape Sundew...   a carnivorous plant

Can't plant for a while yet 90 min north of NYC, but just got a gift of a planned 3 season perennial garden with an envelope that was a gift itselfDon B Day.jpg

Now that RI went legal gonna give a grow a try, picked up some Northern Lights from a seed company recommended in the Canabis folder, they arrrived yesterday with no issues. Hope spring eternal. I also ordered some peppermint twist beets, Purple Carrot with orange centers and finally some bush or upright squash from Burpee. Looking forward to the garden in a few months.

Been a really strange year in the garden. Every yr there are new pests and problems, but this yrs growing cycle was strange. Everything took forever to grow and then started producing early. Small plants and small fruit. But then the second cycle began.  Most all the plants except the hot peppers just blew up. Huge greenery everywhere followed by huge production. Most of the hot peppers produced well but smaller than usual fruit. And some are still producing. Pretty much everything has flowers and or small fruit right now. Way too late for the flowers to bring anything harvest able before winter sets in. But the plants seem determined.

Right now, I am swimming in fresh organic produce. Anaheims, Poblanos, tomatoes, cucumbers, jalapenos and a few Serranos. The habeneros gave me one smallish harvest and were done. The 3 zucchini plants gave me very little this yr. That might be the strangest part of all. Any other yr I am searching out new ways to use zucs but not this yr. The zuc plants developed an infestation which spread to the Cucumbers(godzilla) I had to remove all of them.

I planted corn, but only a half  dozen grew out of 48 planted.  Beets never came up. Neither did the carrots.  Gonna buy new fresher seeds next yr.

Bush beans were pathetic. Had problems with the garlic but still harvested 75% of what I planted.

Sungold cherry tomatoes were / are abundant and delicious. Two red tomatoes blew up and still have tons of fruit. Ripening at it's own pace.

And GRAPES!!!!!!  I got so many grapes this yr. The fruit was mostly small, but oh so sweet and delicious.  Have/ had way more than we (the dog and I) can eat.  And the neighbors too.

I will post pics when I get them off my phone.

Last year was a much better garden year for me.  The early heat wave didn't play well with the tomatoes for some reason (killed the pollen one wise man was saying).  Some peppers did better than others.  Onions were fine.  Basil hated the heat.  Tomorrow I bring the girls inside to avoid the upcoming deluge (death to forest fire season, Yippee!!).

This is the second year in a row with a much smaller bug population...  while i'm thankful to not have gotten but one or two mosquito bites this summer, it's worriesome too!

Tomatoes and peppers had a banner year here in the 203.

Zucchini, cucs and eggplant...not so much.
