That is not a distraction from the underlying gun issue. There are a ton a crazy people out there on the left, the right and the middle. Guns don't kill people - people kill people which is why we have to have background checks. I just want people with guns to have to have what you need to drive a car.

The prevalence of firearms was built into our society by The Second Amendment. We are stuck with it. We have to do our best to protect each other from it, especially our children. A model that protects our children from it must be designed and implemented in every school in the country. Bulletproof windows, metal detectors, etc. Until then this will continue to plague our society

We aren't stuck with anything it's got the word amendment right in the title. It is not a tablet written in stone. We are only stuck with it because we the people don't want to change it. We are unfortunately stuck with the people who don't want to change it, but that can be changed too. And no I don't mean killing them or convincing them that vaccines don't work. In my lifetime we went from driving everywhere wasted, smoking on planes, not allowing gay people to be seen or marry, to changing all those things. Never mind civil rights and women's rights. Things can change but not if you think they can't.
So let's lean into the ridiculous it's trans people who are fault and ban trans people from having guns. See if we can't get the Republicans on board with that and then it's just a short ride down the slippery slope they are all so petrified of .
