NYC in March

Forums:

Hello Zoners

I'll be in NYC in March, 3/25-3/28. I'll be staying in Brooklyn (Williamsburg/Bed-Stuy). I don't remember if there are NYC zoners anymore (besides Shakin), but even though I got a busy itinerary if you are around and want to grab a drink or better yet you've got grateful dead bands playing at your local place that I couldn't find, let me know!

Also, here's our local Dead band, Born Cross Eyed (since 1991!) playing the other night with my lovely wife handling "You Ain't Woman Enough". We love catching local dead bands while out & about, so if any in the burroughs playing that weekend that I missed, let me know....

Sweet!

Judging by the numbers, this is my best thread yet, so to celebrate, another clip:

Happy travels, sorry I don't know anything about NYC events during that time period.

Zoner DJ Easy Wind has a fundraiser with a couple of tickets to Phil & Friends for March 19 at the Cap.

Reminds me back in the day, we had a hepC folder gathering in March in NYC. Beacon Theater for ABB.  Weather was cool but sunny and we all had a blast. Think it might have been 2005?

Judit, thank you! Honestly, I've traveled a few places this past year where I was kinda surprised at how the Grateful Dead scenes in former stronghold cities have changed dramatically in the last twenty years, and that makes some sense-the Grateful Dead stopped being a band in 1995. On the other hand, I'm reminded that KY in some ways has a stronger active local scene than it really should, and we probably take it for granted. None the less, here's more video:

Had a great time in NYC. Base of operations was on S 3rd Street in Brooklyn. Saw bassist Marcus Miller at the last night of his residency at the Blue Note Jazz Club, had fellow Miles Davis guitarist alum Mike Stern sit in on guitar. Was fabulous. That band could play!
