Molly

Forums:

Was lucky enough to catch both of her shows. Wow.

Peter Rowan sat in last night, a sweet duet and dueling guitars  on Walls of Time

And the opening act, Christina Vane was superb.

Christina Vane is great! She's worth the price of admission alone.

I did as well.  Years ago I found a website that had a list of like 50 different concoctions of molly and what could possibly in it - including many other drugs in various forms and quantities.  That confirmed my lack of interest.

Molly Street Names

Adam, Beans, Biscuit, Clarity, Disco Biscuit, E, Eve, Go, Hug Drug, Lover’s Speed, MDMA, Peace, STP, X, XTC,

But "Dust in a Baggie" is about crank:

I ain't slept in seven days, haven't ate in three
Methamphetamine has got a damn good hold of me
My tweaker friends have got me to the point of no return
I just took the lighter to the bulb and watched it burn

Flogging Molly is a double entendre.

thought this was about the zoner

I caught a show with Ms. Tuttle and her excellent band last year in a local church turned music venue: Outpost In The Burbs, and was blown away on how good her and her band were. One of my favorite shows on recent memory. It is amazing the quality of performers this venue non/profit has. Coming up is Richard Lloyd (Television), Larry Campbell and his wife, another Richard Thompson show soon to be announced (he lives in Montclair, NJ where this venue is) plus a few more soon to be announced aritsts that normally play much larger venues. Besides being a mini-cathedral style church with superb acoustics, the staff and audiences are top of the game.

Was lucky enough to catch her set last Friday up in Tahoe. I've seen her before but last Friday was a true rocker, she and her band were fantastic, fun, and she really kept the festival crowd engaged. Some choice covers (White Rabbit?!) in between her polished originals, and lots of room for the band to showcase their individual talents. She's up there with BMFS in bringing bluegrass into the 21st century, I'm sure her star will continue to rise.

Molly is joining Billy and the Kids in New Orleans

I hoped this thread might be about Molly Ivins.

Molly Tuttle rocks. I mean, she is a badass, killing it on the guitar, on vocal. She’s got the goods, and she’s quickly becoming a household name, like Billy MFS, who is one of her pals. Grammy winner for her album, and she’s played with Weir, recorded with Peter Rowan, now playing with Billy K. Molly is killing it, and well deserved.

An Easter Egg for all...

White Rabbit

I enjoyed that, Tony, and actually liked the banjo and mando parts. Stong stuff, including her voice.

Yes, and Bronwyn is no slouch on fiddle.

MMFT

The whole band is great.  Last year Kyle seemed to hold back a bit, but he is standing out more. There is not a weak link in the Golden Highway.

I like her so far. I saw that White Rabbit vid, and bought tix for her Portsmouth show.
A friend had been telling me about her, and how she's buds with Billy Strings.
I gotta say, I don't get the Billy Strings fanfare.
I get that he's a great picker, and that he's young & edgy.
Maybe I'm just not a fan of so much twang in the vocals?
I realize that's traditional bluegrass, but...meh.
Molly seems more original to me.
I got tix to Billy this Summer too, maybe I'll be swayed?
