It was pretty easy to generate images of Jerry Garcia smoking. Probably because there are so many actual photos of him smoking out there, that the machine has many reference points.
However, I wasn’t able to generate one of Jerry taking a bong rip. Often when I tried it looked more like he was chasing the dragon, so I’ve opted not to include those images here.
None of those look *anything* like him, nor do they resemble in the slightest what an actual human adult would produce as an interpretation or appreciation. By which I mean none of them evoke in me any reaction of "Hey, that's Jerry" much less "Hmmm, that's an aspect of Jerry I hadn't considered " or "Damn that makes me miss him.". They evoke no human felling. Which, come to think of it, pretty much summarizes AI. Someone recently described AI as an automated manspalainer. And that's what a mansplainer would draw.
