It's not being billed as a show, just a panel discussion moderated by Spike Lee. Maybe the ice is finally breaking? Interesting to see where this leads.
Lee directed and produced the film of Byrne's American Utopia a few years ago. Maybe Lee asked Byrne if we'd ever see the Talking Heads work together again.
As much as I would love for it to happen, I probably have a better chance of winning a MegaMillions drawing. I've heard from people that would know that it would only happen with a 70 - 10 - 10 - 10 split.
I saw one of these panel discussions back in the 90's at the beginning of the internet with Spike Lee, Laurie Anderson, and Adrian Belew. Still to this day I can remember Laurie Anderson talking about how she started collecting grains of sand and was really excited when she found another person online who was doing the same. She reached out to start a conversation with them but quickly realized that the other person was a 10 year old.
Adrian Belew had this really interesting conversation about how he was playing around with generative music where you put in variables and just let the computer generate the sounds all within the variables. He was really into it and thought that it was the future and that no one would listen to the same song twice and every time we listened to music it would be unique and then discarded.
Jerry Harrison Deems ‘Stop Making Sense’ A24 Release “Healing” for Talking Heads Members
Despite pre-existing friction, Harrison revealed, “I think it’s been somewhat of a healing experience for everybody.” He reinforced his prior comment by adding, ‘It’s like, ‘Yeah, we actually can work together and do this.’ And this is something we’re all proud of. The conflicts that people have spent a lot of time talking about, they still can be looked up. It’s not like the feelings that made people say various things are totally gone or anything like that, but it’s sort of like they’ve been voiced.”
While I love that article and words from Jerry, it would really be progress if those sentiments were being expressed by Chris n Tina, who are really the ones with the beef

Spike Lee had nothing at all interesting to say.
