I am thinking that Stafford Lake in late August will likely be an uncomfortably hot afternoon.

>>>I am thinking that Stafford Lake in late August will likely be an uncomfortably hot afternoon.

I've been to a lot of Sunday parties there thrown by Sunset. It's a many layer kind of place, yes it can get hot but the fog can roll in too - overall a great place to listen to music.

If you can don't approach from the 101 side. It's a two lane road and the back ups can be epic. Try to go around and approach the lake from the Pacific side. Any extra time you use making that happen will be more than made up when you get to the lake.

Have fun and avoid the goose turds.

Stafford Lake is 5min from my place if anyone needs local assistance with a place to crash or cool off.  I have tickets for the show as well

^^^ is there a backyard to pitch a tent?

Sure thing.  There is also a spare bedroom.  I have a couple of dogs but they only bite giants and 9ers fans

I kid.  Only mets fans

LOL Does that mean they are Raiders fans ?

Thanks, will let you know.

Widespread Panic is playing in Napa that weekend, too. Considering 1 show.

We are from Philadelphia.. my wife and 11 yr old are also going to the show so we welcome anyone who needs to rest there heads, get a night cap and or anything in between

It's official: Phil is on the lineup, per TXR Instagram

Got my ticket, yay

I got an email this morning saying that Phil is headlining. Kind of weird announcing that a month after the initial announcement. Soft ticket sales?

from FB:

Phil Lesh to headline Sunday Daydream Vol. 2 on August 27!

We were considering keeping this a secret until the day of the festival, but Phil couldn't wait to tell you all that he will absolutely be joining all of us at Stafford Lake Park for Sunday Daydream Vol. 2! Phil is tanned, rested and ready to lead the entire Terrapin All-Stars set, which already features members of Dawes, Jennifer Hartswick, Natalie Cressman, Grahame Lesh, & maybe some other guests. We'll see you at the park!

Tix: https://www.eventbrite.com/.../terrapin-crossroads...

Phil joins an absolutely stacked lineup - 7 amazing acts including the Phil Lesh & The Terrapin All-Stars set, Melvin Seals and JGB, Nicki Bluhm + Scott Law Music + Ross James, Moonalice, & three of our local favorites who will rock the "Keep It Weird" bar stage - San Geronimo, The Incubators, & a special set headlined by Mark Karan & Alex Jordan! Plus, you never know who might be around to sit in with one of these bands...

The music truly never stops

And of course, since the whole Lesh family will be there, we will have fun for the whole family with the Camp Terrapin Kid Zone for the littles, many local favorite food vendors like Amy's Drive Thru, Rocco's Pizza, and much more.

We'll see you at the Park! https://www.eventbrite.com/.../terrapin-crossroads...

>>>Soft ticket sales<<<

No other logical reason. Kind of odd he wasn't on the bill from the start, especially since it was directly implied.

Likely no spot taken, but it sounds like a fun deal and a few hoots will certainly be had.

Have fun kids!

This should be a fun day!

i will jam and jump - i never doubted that phil would play

James Casey is now Stage 4 and is back in the hospital. He had to cancel his Billy and the Kids and Phil gigs.

Trey, Phil, and Billy K all put out messages today with a link to this:

I saw the James Casey messages today. Damn it!

A good friend was recently diagnosed with terrible lung cancer, and just started immunotherapy today. The prediction is that it'll be 40% effective, the same as chemo would have been in this case. Damn it!

It hurts.

Tragic news. :(

According to his Insta, he recently got engaged,'too.

tragic

That is really tragic news. So sad.

Tragic news at any time, but even moreso since Casey's musical career has really been taking off the last few years.

Yes indeed Mike.  James speedy recovery.  Love your voice James.

Paging Dkstr!

my email is in my profile... let's talk about saving me a tent site in your backyard...

You got it LOL. I will hit up your email

If anyone going is interested in playing the disc golf course at Stafford Lake in the AM prior to the show as a fun per-func, holler!

I've always got discs in my trunk hatch.

Anyone have an extra ticket to sell?

email in profile!

We're in for Sunday Phil!! Also Lisa is sitting in with the Alamo Mission Band Saturday evening in Petaluma. Hoping to see some familiar faces, it's been a minute...

Wishing y'all a super fun day with Phil! I love that they are putting these shows together.

Canyon and Lisa!!!

Makes this worth it even more!

Momo!

Going to be a lot of fun there! Good times.

I lived in Novato for most of the 90's. In 1999 I planted about 7 or 8 redwood trees at the park. Over the years I would drive by and see the progress of their growth. It's been many years since my last drive by. I can't wait to see how they have grown.

Hi Roshambo (RoRo?), Peak, Canyon and the rest of you fine folks. Great to "see" you all. It's way nice to be back on the blackscreen. Also hi and thanks to Admin, who I'm lucky enough to actually see in person, for reminding me to do some zoning. cool

I hope your trees are thriving, Peak15!

(((((Go Team Phil)))))

Sorry to be the old, grumpy, get off my lawn zoner but $106.54 per ticket?   Was hoping to bring a group of four tomorrow.
I'm more than capable of washing my own dishes.  YMMV.

hey all.  I am right down road from Stafford Lake in case anyone needs to get there heads right post game before you head to your final destinations.  I hope everyone has a grate time!

wear sunscreen, I got fucking blistered last time in San Rafael....

updates:  A Zoner team of 2 will start a game of disc golf at 10am tomorrow... and just play until it's time to move to stage.  all are welcome to tag along where there you play or not!  I've got 4-5 discs to share.... and haven't played in a few years.

how about a Zoner meet up just prior to JGB set?

need suggestions for location ... soundboard? bar?

Ah, naturally the complaint about ticket prices had to show up.

It's 2023, how much do folks think it costs to rent a sizable portion of that park, pay for the event insurance that is mandatory and isn't cheap, pay for all the infrastructure that goes into building a venue from scratch, such as fencing, staging, sound, restroom facilities, etc. etc. etc.

Then factor in staffing costs for multiple days, which will include overtime for an event that is set to run well over eight hours.

And of course all the musicians have to be paid and they're not ALL "dishwashers", so that's going to run up the tab as well, along with all the other various costs that I'm not even thinking of.

I seriously doubt that they're going to sell more than a few thousand tickets and I don't think it's a crime that the people making the effort and who are putting up all that upfront dough are hoping to make a profit at the end of the day, so the price is what it is, which considering everything involved is actually quite reasonable.

It's still not a cheap ticket and if folks don't want to pay that much I think that's totally understandable. I'm not going, and even if I lived fifteen minutes away I probably wouldn't buy a ticket, but I also understand that it's not 1976 anymore and that everything involved in event production these days is seriously expensive, so the idea that the ticket price is ridiculously or unfairly high is silly.

Just sayin'.

Once again Tom hits the nail squarely on the head. I was at the park yesterday watching it come together. so many people involved that you won't see today but will be back tomorrow. I'm in it for the fun and I can't wait to see all of your smiling faces!

I understand - it's shocking to bring 4 people - 4 x 106.54 is a whole lot of money. It's not just $106.54. And $106.54 is too much for me. (Could have gotten early bird tickets?)

I also understand the need for paying everyone involved what I hope is a living wage (for what living costs in the area) and profit, too.

Thi$ i$ what keep$ me from being able to go to wonderful event$ like thi$. It's just the way it is; no complaints, I've had my times.

llollo shit so your a Folfer too?  where was that Zoner Crushes thread ....Check out the Incubators, Chris Chappel is an old core tour buddy, Have fun, say Hi to Tam for me, gawd I miss that zone

burritos are also $12-15...

Wow Days Between last night? Anyone thinking that's a wrap?

^^^ no

Phil made a statement something along the lines of "there will be more... " which i interpreted as "more events like these"

yes Tommy Gutt I used to play more regularly but flailed yesterday... thanks to Johnny D for coming along... it was a fun pre-func.... we accidentally wandered into backstage area trying to find our way back to venue from a trail... but it was no big deal.

It made me happy to see the Zoners I did connect with... until next time!

Great to hear!!

Perhaps Days Between was for James Casey?

Yes or Maybe just because summer flies and August dies...

What a fun day in the park.  Beautiful vibes.  Phantastic music.  Thanks TXR Day 2.

Yes, it was a great setting and well run event! Phil looked to be in good spirits and was thumping away on his bass. Good times.

What a beautiful day and a truly groovy scene. There were deer and geese on the water just steps from the event, the weather was perfect (but warm), crowd was hip, it was all just magical.

JGB rocked pretty hard, they played a great set, definitely more "jammy" than the actual JGB, and lots of fun (I've seen Melvin's band many times but this lineup is great). The tweener sets were good fun as well.

Phil was great too. As mentioned, he seemed to be doing/feeling pretty good. The "meat" of the set was ChinaCat and PITB, but there were some serious bombs in Days Between too, it was a heavy tune. Cosmic Charley was fun. It seems like the unplanned piss break probably killed the chance at an encore, but... it was an awfully good time. The Dawes guys did a fine job, they "gelled" pretty well for a one-off. As good of a show as I've heard Phil play this year, at least. The vibes were great, wook factor low, good food and drink, lots of space to dance, some fine bands, no cops or hassle, and a whole bunch of friendly faces. Hope to do something like this again soon!

Weird but NO tapers.  Didn't see any mike stands.  If you taped the show, please post.  THX

There was one taper I saw, for sure. Pretty far up front. Hopefully a "tape" surfaces.

Or some video at least.

My astute- Zoner friend- mentioned- rightfully-

Why didn't Phil mention James Casey, during introductions-at the end of set Sunday?

saying - he is very missed, was  supposed to be in this lineup today-with his long time peers-

Please donate to his GOFundMe- for his family's bills

Thanks for supporting and much love

Donor rap plus- get a colonoscopy check sooner than later!

Sorry- but this was jus devastating for me..

Tributes from amazing artists have helped with the loss.
