Not many bands making it past Ft. Myers Beach. The worst we had inland Ft. Myers was the first band that hit around noon, dumped a bunch of rain, and had some gusty winds. The rest of the day, a little wind and rain, but not dreadful. The canal my daughter lives on in Cape Coral rose up about 2-3 ft. Stay safe, and good luck
Fortunately, it looks like it will miss (for now) big population centers and crash instead into a remote swamp in the Big Bend area of the state. The small coastal village of Cedar Key (along with any swamp people encampments) could be wiped out though.
Crazy thing is that some models have it doing a boomerang after it goes out to sea off the Carolinas for another pass at Florida.
The water got up over the boat dock at my daughters, up about 4ft. From normal. Street light down in the neighborhood, and lots of dead palms that were killed in last years hurricane fell out of the trees, but not much damage. We had big wind's starting around 3 am and they are still swirling, along with the clouds circling this am. It's heading back to Cape Coral after it cuts thru the state, not out of it yet.

Sustained winds now up to a 100mph (2pm PT). This isn't going to end well... I wish Floridians had a competent governor who lived in the real world
