I am very interested to hear this in it's undigitized form. And by the way, vinyl is not overrated. I bought the DSOTM remaster and listening to it again on vinyl was like hearing it again for the first time.

i'm assuming this is already gone for the lucky 15K that had the $$ & wanted to get it. oh well, still have excellent copies of all 4 shows (5/8/77 is in 5.1 surround sound, but it's just a little gimmicky)
wonder what the quality of the downloads will be when available on 5/5. the reason i want this is because of the outstanding sound quality & playing, and it bookends my birthday during that time in 77. twould be sweet but i aint going to lose sleep over it.
I don't think they have packaged anything as poorly as the Europe 72 tour discs.
It looked to me like it's the same artists who designed the other May 1977 box set, which is not my favorite.
Still, these 4 shows are pretty fucking amazing, and I, for one, am psyched!
Of course Cornell is overrated, that doesn't make it not incredibly good! I'm also a fan of this planegent process or whatever, pinnacle being the Winterland 77 box, which is unmatchable.
Are these boards that are surfacing now the half of Betty's storage unit auction that the guy who bought them had held hostage for an insanely high ransom for years? If so, how were they acquired and at what cost?
I will splurge for the May box. Those are some of the most Phil bass-slapping high in the mix shows ever. True energy. Think Phil on Scarlet. Shows in that immediate period are what i pop on when I want folks to warm up to the GD. Then I get to the early 70's Darkstars. The vinyl is tempting but I need a new turntable. Thanks for heads up!
