Cults are pretty well studied and understood.  For me to see one operating on the scale of the MAGA cult is truly horrifying. There is nothing else that fits what is going on.  We are witnessing a cult with 10's of millions of followers.  How this plays out is certainly beyond me.  But as with most cults, it will end when Dear Leader Trump ends.  The FLDS cult (Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) run by Warren Jeffs proves that the leader can be in prison and still run the whole damn thing.  So I'm sure we are all going to have to watch in real time has the MAGA cult plays out for the rest of Trump's lifetime. Even when he goes to jail his followers will remain ever dangerous.

The fact that this cult has the near entirety of the Republican Party captivated and enthralled is an aspect that most other cults never have.  I guess North Korea would be an example of a cult running an entire country.  The founder of that cult managed to get the bloodline thing started so his cult didn't end when he died.  That cult has managed to survive from founder to son to grandson.  How our homegrown  political cult goes down is bound to be exceptionally ugly.  Not surprising that Trump was starting to push his family on us as his reign was nearing its end in 2019 and 2020.  Don't think he hasn't studied what Kim Il-Sung pulled off in North Korea.  However, I have to be hopeful that our Democracy survives and ultimately the MAGA cult will crash and burn. 

It is going to be ugly however it goes down. Even if he were to win the election there is no way the majority of us don't protest with numbers and frequency like this country has never seen. Then that would get extremely ugly with people dying and the rage of the majority would grow.  I really don't think it will come to that. 

He has only lost voters since 2020.  Those in his cult have grown even more extreme and committed, but some have walked away. I can't see him getting even the vote totals he did in 2020.  I just think he gets convicted for felonies and goes to jai.  He will then rage from jail and his cult will live on in somewhat smaller numbers until he dies.
