Judicial Watch, a conservative group that tracked the cost of travel expenses for Obama, estimated that $97 million was spent during his eight years in office. However, based on the first four weeks of Trump's presidency, which included three trips to his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida, Trump is well on his way to jump past that figure. The Post rounded up a handful of estimates of the costs of protecting the Trump family incurred by the US departments of Defense and Homeland Security and local police agencies.
Here are a few:
Three trips to Mar-a-Lago since Trump's inauguration may have cost about $10 million, based on a government report from October that analyzed White House travel, The Post said. The expenses include the cost of US Coast Guard patrol boats on the shoreline. Palm Beach County officials say they will request reimbursement of tens of thousands of dollars per day from the White House for their deputies who provided security and logistical support around the city.
Police officials estimate that it would cost New York $500,000 a day, or $183 million a year, to guard Trump Tower, where first lady Melania Trump and son Barron Trump live.
Secret Service and US embassy employees paid about $100,000 in hotel room bills during Eric Trump's trip to Uruguay, where he promoted a Trump-branded building.
If the Pentagon secures rental space in Trump Tower — needed for when the president returns to New York — it could cost $1.5 million per year, according to the building's website.
Secret Service paid $12,000 for tents, portable toilets, light towers, and golf carts during Trump's Super Bowl weekend trip to Mar-a-Lago.

Pretty sure if someone takes
Pretty sure if someone takes the time, they can find zoner alt righters like dead squared or whoever the fuck he is ranting about Obama's vacations and costs to the American public vs. GW Bush's exactly when SCROTUS was screaming about Obama vacations and the fact that HE wasn't going to take a salary or vacations.
First of all, these guys SHOULD take vacations no matter how they self identify themselves. It's an insane job. Look at how it has aged each and everyone of them so far. In GW Bush's case, the facts were that he actually took more vacation than Obama, but it cost less because he went to his vast, easier to protect ranch. Obama did not own a ranch, etc. so with less actual vacation days if you will, it cost more.
Now for SCROTUS, he owns Mar-A-Lago, but it's not as easy to protect as a ranch so it will cost. Think the key point here though is that the man-child has basically taken a vacation every fucking weekend he's had the gig and he's outpacing all other costs. That's without including protecting Trump Tower, the kids on business trips, etc.
Nothing to see here says the fruit loop alt-righters. The psychology is amazing and will be a studied topic for year assuming we don't follow the Idiocracy path.

http://abcnews.go.com
http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/paying-president-trumps-travel-security-c...
>While the travel is not unprecedented or inherently improper, the Trump presidency does pose a highly unusual –- and undeniably costly -– logistical and security dynamic given Trump's multiple homes in expensive locations and four active adult children who each require security protection.
The Trump administration won’t provide dollar figures for the initial trips to Florida, but one presidential trip to the Palm Beach area in 2013 cost taxpayers around $3 million dollars, according to a Government Accountability Office (GAO) estimate from 2016.
"If President Trump is going to go back and forth to Florida every weekend, those costs could really skyrocket," Fitton said. "The presidency is too big, it costs too much money and if anyone is able to cut down the cost, maybe President Trump can."
Fitton suggested Trump spend weekends at one of his properties closer to Washington, or even Camp David, the presidential retreat.
The costs of presidential travel have been in the spotlight for decades. President George W. Bush took 77 trips to his ranch in Crawford, Texas, over 8 years, according to CBS’ Mark Knoller. Richard Nixon frequently spent short weekend trips at his "Winter White House" at Key Biscayne in Florida. Ronald Reaganmade occasional trips to his home on the West Coast.
In the past, Trump has been sharply critical of the costs of presidential travel. He lambasted President Obama on Twitter for millions of dollars of "unbelievable!" travel expenses –- and suggested he spent more time golfing and campaigning than working for the American people.
In 2015, Trump went so far as to publicly pledge that he would "rarely leave the White House because there’s so much work to be done," The Hill reported. But so far, Trump has shown no indication he’s looking to cut down on his own presidential travel costs.
The White House did not respond to ABC News requests for comment about the travel, and the administration will not provide details about the cost of travel and security.
With every presidential visit, there are also added costs imposed on local governments playing host. The Palm Beach Sheriff’s office estimates they pay $60,000 in overtime pay each day when President Trump is in the area. During the Thanksgiving holiday, the county had to absorb $248,000 of overtime wages because Trump was in town....

All I'm saying is that you're
All I'm saying is that you're all talking semantics. If Trump is playing golf with a dignitary from another country ,it would seem you'd need more security as there is more than just the President to protect. So are people comparing apples to apples? Seems to me just another fake news story to get people riled up (see Mannfred and Nancy as examples). Anyone remember the Clintons taking over the travel office and the ensuing uproar? My point is this stuff is used to distract the people and get everyone mad while there are other more important things to worry about. All elected officials don't care about money as evidenced by the countrie's 20 trillion dollar debt. It doubled under Bush2 from 5 to 10 trillion in 8 years and went from 10 to 20 trillion in 8 years under Obama. Municipalities all over the country are bankrupt if you factor in the unfunded liabilities. The most recent is the Dallas pension plan for police officers and such. People are arguing over the wrong things. I just showed you with math that no politician cares about spending money.
Redneck is absolutely right. The 1% is robbing the country blind and it has entered warp drive since the financial crisis in 2008. Zero interest rates benefits municipalities and governments in extreme debt, since they pay interest on that but it steals from common people who save money. You can't get 4% on risk free CD's anymore. Savers have lost 600 billion a year since 2009 and are now forced to buy stocks which are riskier in order not to eat their principle. Zero interest rates plus inflation average of 2% means you're losing money every year in your risk free investments. When are you people going to wake the fuck up to see what's really going on?

I don't know the answer to
I don't know the answer to your question Brian. I do think the powers that be are trying awfully hard to discredit him as he's not one of their own. Even the Republicans like McConnell and his ilk were saying the week before the election that they wouldn't even vote for him (technically a memeber of their own party, very odd when you think about it). The endless news cycle and leaks from within since inauguration seem to support this. The deep state is desperately trying to keep things going as long as they can. It will all work until one day when it doesn't. Eisenhower warned us and Kennedy paid for it with his life.. Reagan was shot over the very same reason. People need to study history more.
But truth be told, I believe that the country and the financial system are beyond repair at this point. No matter which party is in control. I see it every day in what I'm told versus what I see. I'm not even talking tin foil hat stuff, just basic math and every dealings with what I do for my job.
Nancy throws around facist insults all the time. As a Jew you'd think she's have a clue as to what facism really is, but she has a vested interest in the current power structure as she and her husband have lots to lose if things really change. I pity and laugh at her continual braying.....

Sen. John McCain spoke out Saturday in defense of the free press after President Trump lashed out against the news media several times over the past week, at one point declaring it “the enemy of the American People!”
Such talk, McCain (R-Ariz.) said on NBC News in an interview set to air Sunday, was “how dictators get started.”
“In other words, a consolidation of power,” McCain told “Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd from Munich. “When you look at history, the first thing that dictators do is shut down the press. And I'm not saying that President Trump is trying to be a dictator. I'm just saying we need to learn the lessons of history.”
The 80-year-old Republican senator was responding to several tweets by Trump over the past week, in which he repeatedly attacked the media as “fake news.” In one widely shared tweet Friday, Trump said the press was “not my enemy” but that of the American people.

Adolf Hitler was allegedly an Ibsen fan. (Some historians say they believe that he read the plays as prophecy of the Third Reich.) He reportedly read “An Enemy of the People” closely, even weavingsome key lines into speeches. His administration deployed this rhetoric to describe Hitler's main enemy: the Jews. “Each Jew is a sworn enemy of the German people,” Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels wrote in 1941. “... If someone wears the Jewish star, he is an enemy of the people. Anyone who deals with him is the same as a Jew and must be treated accordingly. He earns the contempt of the entire people, for he is a craven coward who leaves them in the lurch to stand by the enemy.”
Around the same time, leaders of the Soviet Union were transforming enemy of the people into a major tool for oppression and silencing enemies. Vladimir Lenin, founder of the Bolsheviks, used “the peoples' enemies” ..
