He's kind of losing the audience, although the guys in the stands right behind him look like they're having fun. Hi, Mom. I'm behind the President, 100%!
I find this reporting remarkable because of the way it handles the terrorist attack in Sweden that didn't happen. No hysterics, no finger pointing. Just saying.
He reiterated his campaign promises, bragged about things he has already done, blamed Obama for leaving him with “a mess like you wouldn’t believe,” denounced the “fake news” media, pulled a fan onto the stage, referenced a terrorist attack in Sweden the night before that didn't happen, and compared himself to Thomas Jefferson, Andrew Jackson and Abraham Lincoln.
Trump's poll numbers vs. the stock market does not compute with reality. I doubt that his lot of deplorables are driving the market. Yet, the stock market is up 12% since the election. Apparently, there are a lot of hypocritical Democrats driving the market. I'm sure a lot of the protesters are wrapping up their hate filled day with a call to the broker.
War is his and the GOP's best option. The ultimate distraction. Can't work on a trillion dollar infrastructure here if we are war "defending our nation" abroad.
With 45 and his band of swamp monsters, there is a 50-50 chance that it could start based on their plan and/or because he does something stupid.
Harward's decision to not replace Flynn is really a huge deal on several levels. First, so much for the "finely tuned machine". Any semi-competent organization would damn well make sure the guy is going to accept the position before going public with announcing him especially after your original guy just potentially committed treason and resigned in disgrace. Second, amongst the military folk at most levels, but certainly at the highest, there is an unwritten code that you accept such a position for the good of the nation no matter your own personal situation. So Harward is going against a historical code of honor on that one.
This all speaks to the apparent general feel in DC by current, experienced personnel as well as any others who may well have been contenders for positions and are now petrified that their cell phone is going to ring asking them to join. There are still thousands of open positions for this GOP administration to fill.
There are already 1.4 million. It's not like they don't have candidates.
Many enlist for the free college. The recruiters tell them that they can join the non-combat units, no problem, do their time and get out.
What they don't tell them is tha placement is highly determined by ASVAB scores, and only the best and brightest get the peachy positions. They also don't tell them that they are the property of the military, which will do with them as they see fit.
LONDON — Swedes reacted with confusion, anger and ridicule on Sunday to a vague remark by President Trump that suggested that something terrible had occurred in their country.
During a campaign-style rally on Saturday in Florida, Mr. Trump issued a sharp if discursive attack on refugee policies in Europe, ticking off a list of places that have been hit by terrorists.
“You look at what’s happening,” he told his supporters. “We’ve got to keep our country safe. You look at what’s happening in Germany, you look at what’s happening last night in Sweden. Sweden, who would believe this?”
Not the Swedes.
Nothing particularly nefarious happened in Sweden on Friday — or Saturday, for that matter — and Swedes were left baffled.
“Sweden? Terror attack? What has he been smoking? Questions abound,” Carl Bildt, a former prime minister and foreign minister, wrote on Twitter.
Mr. Trump did not state, per se, that a terrorist attack had taken place in Sweden.
But the context of his remarks — he mentioned Sweden right after he chastised Germany, a destination for refugees and asylum seekers fleeing war and deprivation — suggested that he thought it might have.
“Sweden,” he said. “They took in large numbers. They’re having problems like they never thought possible. You look at what’s happening in Brussels. You look at what’s happening all over the world. Take a look at Nice. Take a look at Paris. We’ve allowed thousands and thousands of people into our country and there was no way to vet those people. There was no documentation. There was no nothing. So we’re going to keep our country safe.”
Contrary to Mr. Trump’s allegations, nearly all of the men involved in terrorist assaults in Paris on Nov. 13, 2015, in Brussels on March 22 last year, and in Nice, France, on July 14, were citizens of France or Belgium.
As the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet noted, Twitter users were quick to ridicule Mr. Trump’s remark, with joking references to the Swedish Chef, the “Muppets” character; Swedish meatballs; and Ikea, the furniture giant.
Others speculated that Mr. Trump might have been influenced by a Fox News interview of Ami Horowitz, a filmmaker who asserts that migrants in Sweden have been associated with a crime wave, by the correspondent Tucker Carlson. “They often times try to cover up some of these crimes,” Mr. Horowitz said, arguing that those who try to tell the truth about the situation are shouted down as racists and xenophobes.
(Mr. Carlson interjected, “The masochism of the West knows no bounds at all.”)
Mr. Horowitz said, “Sweden had its first terrorist Islamic attack not that long ago, so they’re now getting a taste of what we’ve been seeing across Europe already.”...
the whole thing is scary. Not to be taken lightly imo. It is the scariest point in recent history. The thing cant even give a speech much less a direct answer. Rally for what? Nice placement of people of color though. like people cant see through that.
So It has taken serious swipes at the press and the intelligence community. NOT a good idea.He will implode or destroy everything. Can you see any other outcomes? we need some hope. Please trump supporters, tell us how this situation will come to a positive conclusion. serious. what are we missing? what good or progress do you see happening over the next 4 years of trump? a serious question
Not an Obama homer, but so many people seem to have forgotten that at the end of GW's run, the nation, as a whole, was war weary. Even GOP'ers had grown disillusioned with both wars and public outcry was to get our boys (and girls) home which Obama set out to do.
Time has a way of doing that for better or for worse.
Now, in a normal situation, unless provoked ala 9/11 type event, I don't think we have the stomach for any other actions. However, we're not in a normal situation with 45 and his looneys in his administration. It's easy to think his base would fanatically and blindly follow him into a war, but without provocation, I'm not sure they all will. Defending the borders is not the same as sending the children of his base to war in some far off place where "dem towel heads hide in the sand and will kill their mother before they surrender". Any actions in the Middle East, etc. are surely going to be problematic as the bottom line there is nobody has ever really won anything there. Russia - Afghanistan. Britain? The US? It's a never ending quagmire (giggity).
Certainly, the majority of American who did not vote for him will be opposed. Hell, if you look at Syria where there were and are horrible visuals of terror and mayhem, WE (not just Obama) did not have the stomach to physically, on the ground, intervene.
Are these guys looney enough to fabricate at US attack ala the conspiracy theorists who believe 9/11 was? Believe 45 and Bannon just might be. Not sure they are capable of pulling it off though.

When breitbart is not busy saying there should be limits on the number of women enrolled in math and science classes in high school and college they can pump Trumps war machine.

>Are these guys looney enough
>Are these guys looney enough to fabricate at US attack ala the conspiracy theorists who believe 9/11 was? Believe 45 and Bannon just might be. Not sure they are capable of pulling it off though.
I believe Bolton could convince Trump of the necessity of war with Iran. After that all you need is good propaganda. I believe that Bannon can handle that.

When breitbart is not busy saying there should be limits on the number of women enrolled in math and science classes in high school and college they can pump Trumps war machine.
Any of you who are tired of all this...do you have a wife or SO, daughter, mother, auntie, niece, sister, or just don't hate women?
Go tell them they cant take a math or science class...
