Saw her a few nights ago in a nice theater. Talk about a roomful of baby boomers. Average age of the crowd had to be 70. Or older.
She's 74 and the show was overall enjoyable. Her voice was a bit strained at times. Her soundman surely had to turn some knobs, but he had it dialed in. Her band was tight, as usual.
She played the hits the crowd came to see and some other stuff. With some save the world messaging sprinkled in.
(I'll always remember her in her yellow boots playing with Jerry at the Greek. A musical highlight.)
I was a bit disappointed though in that she could have gone the route of an old blues guy, authentically old and honestly decrepit -- but she was doing the ageless "I'm still young and vibrant" Dolly Parton-ish thing. Made it into a nostalgia act, of sorts.
Still, she's an icon. A good take your spouse on a date type show.

Saw her 20 years ago and it was exactly as Alan described. Really like her early stuff but she didn't delve into that catalog much and stuck with the the later, more "adult contemporary" material.

I see her every other time
I see her every other time she passe through the Bay Area, and she never disappoints. I recall her opening for Jerry with Johnny Lee Schell on Bass - she still tapped into the old catalog back then....and she toured with him frequently until the Nick of Time album came out....

I've been seeing Bonnie since the early 80s, and while I love her music, what I really like about her shows is they're like the opposite of a sausage fest.

Saw her at the Greek Berkeley about 8 years ago and agree with Alan and Ken. Also she kind of upset that people were smoking weed.

This song floors me. First time/every time.
I imagine a duet with Phil as a potent donor appeal/PSA.
Or a trio with Grahame (tug heart strings and piss off the haters -- bonus! ).
Saw her on a triple bill with Little Feat and The Neville Brothers at MSG. "I don't know if I'm the peanut butter or the jelly on this this bill ..."

For me, too, Alan. Drove down from the Eel River weekend for the Greek show. What a time!
We could have met then, too.

Heading to see Bonnie tonight. Only caught her 1x prior. Seva benefit possibly.
James Hunter opening. He was a featured performer in one of Van's recent tours and I came away impressed. Interested to see what his band is all about.

Nice night with Bonnie on
Nice night with Bonnie on Friday. Still has the voice of an angel.
I was also digging the no phone policy, which was pretty aggressively monitored by the staff.

May have shared this story
May have shared this story years ago... There was a sudden announcement that David Crosby would play a very small club in Portland, so sudden that few fans showed, but I made it! I was making the most of the near-empty dance floor and my arm hit someone next to me... it was Bonnie! We laughed and danced next each other until setbreak... then David called her up! It was supposedly David's first performance after being released... and his voice was on point,
