Also time to remember our Zoner pal John J Wood, who passed away while jamming with friends at the big fest 10 years ago.

John, we called him catfish, was one of my best friends.  It's hard to believe it's been 10 years already since his passing.  RIP John.

that's alotta good stuff. thanks for the set times.

anyone ever go to a single day?

Thinking of going Sunday

Park the car at Mountain Village and gondola into town?

Enter venue and stand in the back because all the tarp runners filled the infield?

Is it worth the hassle?

If they're not on their tarp, you can squat. Many will have too much room and if you ask nicely......

I just saw Molly Tuttle again. Real good. Did an interesting set with some herb songs (she's a fan) and her cover of "White Rabbit" and did "She Comes In Colors." And Lyle/Large Band is always good.

snowed on us last year! then evacuated from the festival grounds during LOS set due to lightning...

as a "tarp runner" I got special privileges from my crew ha ha

opting for Targhee BG Festival this year

Noice!

Billy/Thile!

Joy, here's the policy:

Due to many complaints and in the spirit of Festivarianism, if you see an empty tarp, feel free to sit until the owner returns. We hope this will cut down on the frustration that many of you have expressed to us that you feel upon seeing empty tarps during those killer morning and afternoon sets.

Tarps aren't people!

Weather if you're ever wondering....https://www.accuweather.com/en/us/telluride/81435/weather-forecast/332190

Guess they've had some rain.

I listened to a good chunk of yesterday's sets.

Big Richard was fun and weird.  The House Band set was ehhhhhhhhhhhhhxcellent.  Nice take on Sir Duke and a Billy Strings sit-in.

I was looking forward to Charley Crockett but when I tuned back in they were not steaming his set.

Psyched for As We Speak and the 'dusters tonight.

Tarps aren't people!<<<

Well, the TMV is considering a revision to their Home Rule Charter to allow for LLC's to vote.  So there's that.

There's always far more open space on tarps the closer you get to the stage, and I was able to find a patch of grass in between tarps yesterday up front for the Chris and Billy.   It was funny watching my neighbors persistently trying to ask others not to step on their blanket "tarp".   It was clearly an uphill battle, but they kept at it.  I made sure to spin and shake my bones on the grass directly adjacent.  Ultimately, the bottom dropped out of the sky and the ground was soaked.  I didn't hang around that spot after that first set, but had wondered what became of the blanket?

But ultimately, the most credence I will give to a tarp, chair, hoodie, etc. left on the ground is that others ought not fuck with said things and they simply reserve a single "spot" for the owner.

It's actually partly sunny now, but kinda waiting for Bela's group and Leftover ... although might just try to go outside while the getting is good.  Looks like big rain ahead this afternoon / evening.  We need it too!  Fire danger is scary.

Is there an accurate schedule of what they are actually going to broadcast?

laughZakir Hussain just quoted the Sunshine of Your Love riff on tuned drums while trading eights with the flute player.

They are havin' some fun.

Mark - just checking - but the strat time listed above are Mountain Time, not California. I found yesterday to be more or less on time and accurate notwithstanding the rain delay.

sierra, smokin'....

Just received my custom Molly tie-dye from the good folks at Home Town Tie Dye in Pocatello ID. They're on FB. No website, I guess. https://www.facebook.com/Hometowntiedye/

I always see them at a fest in northern Utah. Their tent is my first stop every year. Bought a few great shirts from them. Great folks, she offered to die my new Molly "Dispensary" shirt I bought at the fest there.
