Took notice of Phil's bass in this session, received in 2018 from Alembic
Meet Dream Fyre, Phil Lesh's newest bass. This short scale 6-string bass features a Coco Bolo top and back with a Mahogany, Maple, Walnut, Purpleheart, and Ebony through body neck. Though this bass is similar to Balerion, there are 2 important differences: the deep carved heel which reduces weight and improves upper fret access, and an all new bridge with individual height adjustments. The bridge was designed and machined by Ron Wickersham, and allows for the very fine adjustments Phil requested.
