RIP Kmart

Forums:

Last store just closed.  Can remember when they opened up one in the (then) small Florida town I grew up in.  Thought it was the greatest thing and spent a lot of time there (including the cafeteria).

There was still one open in a Portland suburb in the early 2000s that we would sometimes go to, but it was fading fast.   Time and time again, we asked for help from employees who were either unwilling or, more often, simply unable to help us find something.   It closed and was turned into a Cabelas.

I wonder if NYT crossword will still reference 'blue light special '

Many moons ago I ask my late X what she remembered from her first GD  show in Philly, 8/5/74. She said it was the glowing blue skeleton heads on sticks people were waving they got from Kmart... frown

Yo, Astro!

Those Philly Civic Center shoes were my 5th and 6th GD performances, so there we were in a crowd together, AND much younger!

Pretty sure that's the year Jerry shaved his beard, and maybe The Wall of Sound? Either way, it sure was a different time. I have to admit I wondered how many people did NOT know about this incredible band, and we all picked up our own trash and moved along...

the old kmart here is a sprouts grocery store. i'm ok with that

Despite the Ketamine Queen getting taken down in the investigation of Matthew Perry's od, the other K-Mart is surely thriving.

Oh that's just great. Where am I going to buy Big Wheels and Atari cartridges. Terrible news.

ATTENTION K MART SHOPPERS

There is an elderly lady giving head on aisle 5

CLEAN UP ON AISLE 5

Radio Shack always had the cheapest batteries, hands down

Some Kmarts had huge record sections, and cheap too
