The Onion Says It Has Bought Infowars, Alex Jones’s Site, Out of Bankruptcy

Forums:

True?  or just another onion story....

no its real, he said  on twitter that he is live now and is going to stay until someone comes in and turns the lights out. hes currently talking to bannon and bannon is telling him to film the shutdown live and broadcast "names and badge numbers"

NBC announced it online

jones has already launched the alex jones network and had a studio in his house ready to go and already launched his new supplement site "the alex jones store" LMAO

infowars and banned.video are already gone and now he's currently live on "the alex jones network"

Makes me so happy

It's not official yet, unfortunetly.

infowars and banned.video are back online and the sale has been paused by a judge for review. essentially, it looks like the onion was not actually the highest bidder but the plaintiffs essentially chose the onion to prevent infowars from being bought by someone sympathetic to alex.

and regardless of how that goes, this whole thing does not mean alex jones is going to go away or stop broadcasting. he has a huge social media following and millions of dedicated viewers who will follow him wherever. jones usually broadcasts 6 days per week, 3 hours per broadcast, and even when infowars was shut down, there was zero downtime for alex's broadcasts, he just moved to a private home studio and broadcasts on a new site not affiliated with infowars. he can still post/stream on twitter, rumble, odysee and potentially other social media platforms, and to other sites not owned by infowars. i doubt there is any kind of legal avenue where the courts can somehow permanently bar alex from speaking into a microphone and posting it online. this entire sale of infowars, even if it goes thru and is sold to the onion, only concerns alex's ability to broadcast on sites owned by infowars, using the infowars name and infrastructure. alex will still be broadcasting 6 days per week and tons of people will still listen.

as frustrating as that might be, somehow barring someone from speaking into a microphone and posting it online forever as punishment for broadcasting a gross political view would be pretty authoritarian and i highly doubt a solid legal framework exists to do something like that in the US.

I hope nothing happens to his car.  Dangerous out there.

Deal has been scuttled, at least for now

jones continues to spew under the banner of infowars

Judge says see you all in a month

honestly, jones losing infowars is not the big deal that many have been making it out to be. the day after jones officially loses access to infowars, he is back on the air under the name of a different company. most of his viewers will follow him to wherever he goes - nobody who watches infowars shows is gonna give it up cause he doesnt have david knight or owen shroyer anymore, and none of them will come back to an infowars without jones.

i think some people have this idea that once you take infowars down/off the air, alex jones will just slowly disappear from public life and his influence over the american right will dwindle down to nothing. nothing could be farther from the truth IMO. its actually far more likely that every time this subject enters national headlines, jones gets free advertising and an opportunity to grandstand about how the deep state is trying to silence him and take him down, which only makes him more attractive to people, gets him more viewers, and gives his existing viewers more reason to donate/buy supplements.

if jones loses infowars, all that happens is he broadcasts from a smaller, lower tech studio, he loses some or all of the other hosts/"journalists" who work at infowars, and his viewers type in a different URL when the tune into the alex jones show, which would probably be renamed to something like "alex jones live".

Tell me you're an Alex Jones supporter without telling me you're an Alex Jones supporter...

Thinking the same.
