Looking forward to my first sit down Thanksgiving turkey in over twenty years. I have worked every holiday for a long time. Retirement rocks!

Thumbs up zone. Happy Turkeys.

Happy Sit Down Thanksgiving, jaz.  :)

That's a long time!

I generally check with singles as to who has no plans or family. Round em up, take the easy way out and hit one of the local resort dinners. https://swiftwatercellars.com/wp-content/uploads/Thanksgiving-Dinner-Men...

Eat Drink and be Merry

same as ever. couple days before thanksgiving, ive got a big pot of chicken stock cooking that makes the gravy and goes in the stuffing. i really like making stocks, sauces, reductions etc so i go pretty all out on the gravy. we put our turkey on the bbq so cant make gravy that way - thanksgiving morning i roast a saucepan full of  turkey drumsticks, then instead of just dissolving the drippings with stock to make gravy, i dump the stock in without removing the drumsticks, add more aromatics, and simmer that for 4-5 hours, so essentially making a turkey stock with a finished chicken stock, like a double stock i guess. i bet there is a french culinary term for that. then i do a roux, add the double stock to the roux and theres GRAVY

Going for a solo snowshoe if weather cooperates.

I finagled the coupon world well this year, got a free turkey and a $5 n change ham.   First the ham,  will make a cranberry port wine reduction sauce, dill carrots, and corn bread with honey butter.  Haven't decided on mac n cheese or potatoes au gratin.  Will feed my homeless friend, the neighbors, and a friend who's bar tending that day.

Llo that sounds divine

Here's hoping Mama nature cooperates

Interesting Dr. Benway, I have been incorporating broth/stock into my diet once or twice a week.I start with bones and water and I cheat a lil by adding a concentrated base to it too. Thinking about adding some turkey bone broth mix to some pre-made turkey gravy, cuz I am the junk man in the kitchen.

Brother in-law driving down from Orlando and my twin daughters and one son in-law coming to eat some turkey, mashed potatoes and assorted sides. Followed by football, beer, whistle pig rye, and leftovers, with some swats from the one hitter snuck in.
