I got introduced to portable GD music on one of those red 8-trach players with a plunger that looked like a dynamite blaster. A friend's older brother had one we absconded with.
Played the shit out of the Live Dead "album" -- over and over and over....

8/5/67
(Reel to Reel?) > 8-Track Tape > Zenith 8-Track Player (anaologe out) > Digital Input / Protools Capture > 15H kps / 48 kHz .wav file > Flac
--This was second of two miracles all on the same 8-track tape - I did a lot of little edits to cover tape / track changes
and adjusted the volume because of some big bursts that I believe came from the dubbing process. I can also confirm 100% that
this is exclusively from 8/5/67 based on the banter from the band. Also this marks the first recording of That's It For The Other One.
All sound editing done using Roxio Sound Editor (2009).

still doing research but friend said these came from copies of reels from Bill Graham's archive that was lost in a fire -- don't know if that's true, but it is probable
A lot of SF music history was lost when the Nazi sympathizers tossed two gallon jugs of gasoline into Graham's South of Market warehouse in 1985 because Bill had the balls to protest President Reagan’s visit to the Bitburg cemetery. Supposedly Bill kept memorabilia, including some recordings, from all his events.
