Branford & Jerry trading licks on Eyes always does it for me
i think for me, this show is probably my most recognizable dead show. i really cant think of any other show where i can just listen to a few random seconds of pretty much any part of the show and instantly know the exact show that's being played. obviously its easy to pick out branford, but even jerrys licks in this show without much audible sax are just so instantly recognizable to me.
Anybody doing Steam Powered Aereo Plane by John Hartford. Leftover Salmon kicked off their second set with it the other night and it was instant bliss. Seen YMSB and Billy Strings do it too and just uplifts me every time.
This Aiko from Rochester 85 always gets me. Something in Jerry's solos that say "gather round children" in an way that only happened at an upstate NY show
Billy and the pumpkins can do great pop sons, and when the song and video capture a moment in time it is priceless. 1979 the year I graduated high school

After hearing Martino at Blues Alley in DC I had happy endorphin syndrome.
Much joy from Garcia and Lesh's various offerings, too many to narrow down.
