Organic and pasture raised. I don't really care how much they cost, but you can get them at costco for something like 9 bucks for 2 dozen.
I like em fried(olive oil or ghee) scrambled with peppers, onions etc or hard/ soft boiled(deviled too). Also like a good Benedict but I hate runny eggwhites.
And, it turns out, eggs are very healthy for you. Even with heart problems. They supply enough HDL to out do the LDL. It's about the ratio. HDL is really good for you.
The eggs I usually eat are local high quality eggs, small producer, pasture raised, kindly treated, though not organic feed. Always $8.95 a doz.
I sometimes get organically fed ones that cost a little more than that. Almost all of the food I eat is organically raised so I figure eggs from ethically raised chickens are fine.
I almost never buy anything but food to cook at home so I make the choice to eat eggcellent eggpensive eggs.
I have kept chickens on and off over the years and they can be a lot of fun (and a lot of work), but would be worried to death about the bird flu if I had them now, especially with a cat.
These are locally grown eggs in OK. True free range, usda organic, certified humane, etc. for $5.75 / dozen at a local IGA. I could pay just over $4 / dozen for eggs at Walmart that support Tyson-type farms, but the extra couple of bucks supports people who are doing it right. If i was still smoking cigs, those would be costing me around $12/ pack/ day right now, so spending a bit more on good food is well worth it. Why is it surprising that commercial farming, both animal and plant, while poisoning our environment, and ultimately ourselves, in order to provide the masses with cheap shit, would not pass on the inevitable cost of their own poor practices? Get used to this.
