Blame game 2025, Washington plane crash

Forums:

So I'm just hearing about this terrible plane/helicopter crash in DC, which just happened a short time ago, and in our present situation, beyond the basic tragedy I can't help but wonder how long it will take for Trump and/or his minions to begin blaming people/the left for this, OR for some on the left to use this to blame "the right" for it.

Accuse, blame, hate. Rinse and repeat. The default response to every situation in the 21st century.

Maybe I'm wrong and we'll all just mourn this terrible accident together, but I doubt it.

(I'm a little buzzed right now, and BLAME is the first thing that comes to mind as I see the first reports of this)

We live in strange, strange times.

I blame libertarianism.

i blame Leonardo da Vinci and the Wright Brothers.

He just said it.

Biden and Obama.

Clearly........

Trump is blaming it on DEI right now lmao...

"One thing we do know, there was a lot of vision."

Jesus fucking Christ.....

The guy is a total cartoon character. It's like listening to a trump imitator act like an idiot but it's the real thing

I was optimistic that people would just chalk this up to a terrible tragedy until I was scraping the ice off my car this morning and some asshole on the radio was apparently blaming it on people with physical and intellectual disabilities, including "dwarfism."   Are you fucking serious?

^ right, gaslighting 101

there is this...

Military helicopter

commander in chief

actually a pretty short chain of responsibility

God Bless the missing

The press needs to stop repeating DEI. He is blaming any employee at who is not a straight white male, because only straight white males know how to run the world.

^^^ that's white supremacy in a nutshell... he keeps harping on it because he knows it's what got him elected. Something like 80% don't believe he will bring prices down. It's the economy was code for I don't like woke

Tim Walz - “So I would tell people: Stay focused. Don’t take the bait on the distractions. Surround yourself with people who understand this,” he said.

From my understanding much of the air traffic control technology is painfully outdated, up to 40 years old. THe only reason there haven't been more crashes is because of human skill. Shit, when they showed the blips on the screen last night it looked like a 1977 video game, not a 2025 safety system.

This isn't a democrat or republican issue, it's a failure of many administrations.

Then I think of the 3 people flanking Trump at his inauguration, nearly worth a combined trillion dollars. If those fuckers each paid 25% tax, in one year alone it could probably upgrade the entire system. That is a political issue.

Air Traffic controllers are chronically understaffed. One of the reasons is any time there is a government shutdown over the debt limit increases they have to shut the whole school down and start over next year. Just another gift from Republicans who value performative theater over running the government.  I also read that they added more long haul plane traffic to Reagan Airport under Biden and Butigege said they need more funding to accommodate, and House Republicans denied the request.

Apparently the NYC Air Traffic controllers is one of the most understaffed and the people there are all working overtime. It's one of the busiest in the world and you can't come out of school and start working there. Unless I'm flying to  NY I never connect through there. Many of the delays they have at the three airports are just because they don't have enough Air Traffic Controlers to handle all the flights.

AIr traffic controllers are federal government employees

All of them

Just for general infos

It's all reagan's fault.

Chopper stated visual contact(probably saw the departing craft) so I think the error was on the chopper not ATC. But since it was a woman co pilot, I'm guessing that will be what gets blamed

and it's only day 9.......

Condolences, sympathy and Love to the families and friends of all those lost.

This

Seems like the Trump administration is telling people of color to move to the back of the bus again.

you watch how many US citizens of color get swept into the immigrant gang extraction that is planned, and taken to South America.

this is going to get real ugly

It's already ugly. He's already ordered the internment camps to be built.

So happy I don't have to fly for work any more. I don't think I will be flying anywhere in the next few years and the only way I leave the country is with no expectation of getting back in.

Was listening to a bit of NPR last night, a Hispanic gentleman who voted for trump stated he thought his earlier comments about mass deportation were "election bluster".  I wonder how many more voted for him and underestimated his monstrous ego.

There is no way Trump would be doing all of this if they didn't already think that there won't be a 2026 election.

If the FAA is staffed full of unqualified ATC's like 45 insists...

then it really isn't safe for anybody to fly anywhere.

or have I missed something?

Another plane crashed in Philadelphia just now...

It was an air ambulance. A bunch of home are on fire.

Must be one of those persistent strains of DEI.

Trump will just say the girl who died on the plane was some Mexican let into the country by Biden.

"Who cares, I'm only the Commander in Chief when shit goes right"!

It was truly grotesque watching him in real time yesterday.

That's a real person? YES! He's a real person in a real position of power! Darren Beattie, will now be the acting Under Secretary for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs, a so-called “Top 10” position that, as the State Department’s website describes it, “leads America’s public diplomacy outreach, which includes messaging to counter terrorism and violent extremism.”

I have to keep reminding myself there are voices of sanity out there, though they're not part of our current regime.

i am in an industry that is 75-25 women in leadership and support..most Producers and Executive Producers ( my main clients ) are women and most of the pipeline for training ( support staff - PA's, coordinators, Stage managers / show callers - assistant stage managers, etc...

Many techs are men but there are plenty of competent operating techs that are women as well...

Guess what ,these so called " coddled women "  are fucking warriors who kick ass day in and day out and they do it in way less comfy shoes than i get to wear
